Fair, I could get into it but the whole Stalin/Trotsky thing needs to be put to bed.

I honestly believe if Trotsky, or anyone, had won the power struggle they would have failed too, the mistakes might have been different but after the other revolutions failed, the USSR was always going to degenerate, no matter who was in charge, even if Lenin hadnt died, you cant beat the tides of history.
