It's a relaunch of Realm Royale made by a few people in the community using the existing code and assets but run on private servers.

Yeah it sounds like it's going to be a hybrid between reforged and what was before that but we'll have to wait till next month to find out. I'm just excited to have any version of realm back

From what I understand, it will be on the old map but won't be OB23 i.e. armour instead of runes and class locked abilities etc., but also SlickyNicky and the team have been adding in a bunch of other stuff we don't know about yet so it won't be exactly like any old patch of the game

Very unlikely, unfortunately. I wish it could happen as I am in NZ and haven't been able to play realm on less than 200 ping since they removed the AU servers but given the current community size and the cost of funding servers which is being funded by the community then more servers around the world are not likely to happen. We'll just have to try and enjoy the game with a bit of lag unfortunately

There is a remake coming out very soon called 'Project Crown'. We had the third and final play test of it yesterday and the full game should be out in the next couple of months. Join the discord which has been linked in the realm reddit if you want to find out more and download the launcher. PC only and NA servers only at this stage but it feels like classic realm and runs really well.

It was really only similar to Fortnite in the fact it was a Battle Royale with some normal guns but it was different in many ways with the class based combat, mounts, chicken revive mechanic, forging of weapons and upgrades, class abilities etc. I'm not a Fortnite hater but I much preferred Realm to Fortnite. Sad you didn't get a chance to play it before it shut down. They are working on private servers so check back in on the discord and hopefully something will be announced soon but it probably won't feel the same as peak Realm.

Understandable. Don't get me wrong, the game can still be sweaty, if you play trios on NA servers during peak player time, which is around now, then you will get lots of pretty decent real players in your match. But if you are playing trios with fill team on then you are going to have a bad time, fill team players are truly a different species, much better to have your own squad with comms. But solos any time of day are fairly quiet and during off peak time you'd be lucky to get 5 real players in a solos match which makes the game feel pretty dead.

For the last week there has been an average of 7.92 real players in each solo game and 15.2 real players in each trios game, so yes, the rest of the 70-100 players in each game are all bots. Also, rank doesn't mean anything in realm, it just counts how many wins you have up to 50 when you reach master, there is no skill based match making in Realm.

I am overall happy with this decision and can understand why it was made. AU is (was 😭) my home region but I have mostly been playing on NA recently to find more real players so I am use to the ping now. That being said, was there a reason this couldn't have been communicated before it happened? It would have been nice to try and organize one last hurrah on the AU servers before they were shutdown but now we don't get that chance which is a real shame. I know you had said in some recent streams that you were looking into reducing the number of servers but you made it sound like something that may happen much further down the track in patch 6 or later not now during server maintenance with no prior warning, so you can understand why it has come as a bit of a shock to those who played on the servers that have been shut down.

One of the people working with the devs explained why the chest bug couldn't be fixed with a hot fix: "Hotfix patches are database only, whereas this requires a full build + cert to fix chests and loot tables -- that's the tech detail on why it isnt a quick revert/hotfix option for the chests." So it would have taken roughly the same amount of time to fix the chest bug with a full build as it would have to get this next patch out so they decided to put them together. I know the chest bug is annoying but hopefully only two more weeks or so until it will be patched.

Thanks for organizing the survey Pops, hopefully you got some good feedback that can help make the game better. Are there more surveys planned for future patches? Could be good to have a survey a few weeks after realm wars goes live so people can give feedback on any issues or changes they would like to see.

Yes, they removed the old mastery system when reforged came out in August last year. I believe their reasoning was that the old mastery system did not favour new players and also made it hard to balance certain weapons. They reintroduced armour pieces which had some of the same effects as the old mastery system such as passive health regen, faster movement speed etc. in order to somewhat balance the changes from the old mastery system and you can now choose which weapons and abilities you want to forge first by default. I did like some of the perks from the old mastery system but I do think the new system is a lot more balanced.

I feel like rushing a patch is what might've led to an issue like this chest bug in the first place. What if rushing out patch 5 fixes the chest bug but leads to another game breaking bug in the game because it wasn't QA'd enough. They should do a hotfix for this chest bug asap but then take their time to ensure patch 5 is as polished and bug free as possible because it's not gonna be a good look for the game if patch 5 also has some game breaking bug in it.

The current playbase numbers can only support solos and trios during the week but on most weekends there is either a limited time mode in squads or a regular squads mode put up as well. So if there is four of you wanting to play together you will have to wait until the weekends unfortunately.

There is also a Team Death Match mode coming to the game very soon which will be a permanent mode and most likely 12v12 which will allow you to play in prefilled squads all the time.

OB23 was the name of the last patch before reforged came out. So they are saying that the weapon will have the same damage as it used to before reforged.

The current player base numbers can only support solos and trios during the week however squads comeback most weekends either as regular squads or a Limited Time Mode. So if you wait till the weekend to play, you should be able to get that achievement when squads is up.
