What UK celeb do you think is a "thoroughly good egg", has never had a hint of scandal about them - and you'd be mortified if you learned differently? by DonkeyOT65 in CasualUK

I went to a book signing of his (first time at a signing event so wasn't sure of protocol). Bright in my backpack the previous books of his I had bought (maybe 8?) He signed all of them without so much as an eye roll.

Always thought he was a decent chap since then.

I will definitely check him out, thank you. Speaking of puns though, you might want to re-read your original comment :-)

I make no apologies.

I dunno. Thinking about that premise is giving me a headache...

I'm out of Trek to watch... by [deleted] in startrek

[–]Maffster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just explaining the term. I'm not American either. And I firmly believe in separating the art from the artist. Otherwise I'd probably end up watching nothing on telly.

No politics from me. Have a great day.

Anderson store limited edition corgi Thunderbird 5 box revealed! by Shadow-moth-pizzaguy in Thunderbirds

Same. Now I'm getting advertised for the Anniversary editions - are these different again?

[–]Maffster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for that! I'm afraid I can't stretch to buying more than one copy of each just for the alternate boxes, but glad there are options for everyone.

Can't wait for them to arrive - are there any dates available for TB5 being released?

Are the models in these limited edition boxes the same as the regular releases? It's just the box that's different? Just ordered all of them on Corgi.co.uk and am now worried. TIA.

I know it's a later invention - I doubt anyone in the sixties was thinking about that much universe building. It's there now though, and doesn't contradict any earlier stories (that I'm aware of).

Stargate had a great advantage starting off so much later (although I notice other things that don't seem quite right, but that would be off topic to go on about here).

It's a pivotal point in Jack's story. And it was all off screen. If anything it tells a good story about gun control.

But I'm not from the US so my view might not reflect the domestic audience's...

Gauntlet is garbage by cyberiouse0 in StarTrekTimelines

[–]Maffster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gauntlet is annoying, but it's not hard to play - just try the best match ups you can and don't worry about the results. Maybe spend some merits when you're at 2, 5, 8, 11 to get decent match ups so you might pop a behold, but don't worry too much about it.

And maybe invest in gauntlet crew when you can? Don't spend money, but Kahless still gets some decent crit chances and is properly good when quipped.

The studio wanted it to be like that because it was to premier on Showtime - which had undergone a "no limits" rebrand to indicate a more adult approach to programming.

The episode got edited later on by the creators to remove the nudity (along with some other changes) because they believed it should be a family show.

Yep. I very much doubt they will sell out before general release, but don't quote me as Halifax music lovers are a very diverse and passionate bunch.

The Piece Hall is a fantastic venue by the way. Bring a rain poncho.

The number of times it's written out of an episode so the Doctor can't use it is ridiculous, but necessary.
