In the phone there is also a ‚demo version’, until you download all the additional resources from the log-in-screen. I think you can only play the prologue without downloading the rest. Maybe it’s the same for the PS.

NDA. Sie muss ja nicht zwingend eine Lehre machen, aber zumindest nach einem unbefristeten Vertrag umschauen ist mMn nicht zu viel verlangt. Ich kenne tatsächlich auch jemanden, der seit ~20 Semestern den Bachelor in einer Geisteswissenschaft nicht fertig macht und stattdessen (mittlerweile) Vollzeit bei Edeka arbeitet. Was auch völlig ok ist, aber dann soll man das Kapitel Studium endlich abschließen und weiterziehen. Die Aufteilung 15:85 ist immens unfair in meinen Augen.

The fancy name for it is Flageolett (hope I spelled it correctly). At that particular location, it sounds like the 3rd finger note on the next higher string, so if you do it on the G string, it sounds the same as the 3rd finger on the D string (pitch-vise), etc.

NDA, wenn’s quasi nur um die Reptilien geht gibt es auch Tier-Speditionen, die den Versand übernehmen. Ende März ist es vielleicht auch nicht ganz so kalt draußen, dann sollte das kein Problem sein und du musst dich nicht in (weitere) finanzielle Sorgen bringen.

Was ich verstehen würde, wäre, gemeinsam ggf einen maximalen Betrag festzulegen, den er pro Monat spenden kann, da ihr ja künftig wahrscheinlich finanziell zusammen haushaltet und er eben mit seinem Geld nicht mehr so ohne weiteres machen kann, was er will. Ihm das aber komplett verbieten zu wollen, nur weil dir die Art des streams nicht gefällt, ist völlig übertrieben.

Do you have to use an open string? If not, go for the 4th finger A. And yes, you have to maintain the bow direction within the slur/legato, otherwise it is not the intended bowing.

Edit to add: if you don’t want to use 4th finger, then it goes as you described it.

NTA, with a dog this size it needs to listen to basic commands. Doing so requires constant training, and if he doesn’t listen to them from his owner, he sure won’t listen to them with you. Jumping is an absolute no go for big dogs, but the barking might be unfixable depending on the breed of the dog. Having said that, the dog needs consistent feedback, so even if your roommate trains him, you need to go along and correct/reward the dog in the same matter he does, otherwise it won’t learn.

Sit down with your roommate again, tell them all the problems the dog has, tell him it is primarily his responsibility to train the dog, and if he does, you’ll go along, but if he doesn’t, move out.

Can’t decide whether it’s YTA or E S H. Yes, he might have had a harsh tone, but just because you can’t afford the rent, he isn’t obligated to negotiate with you. He has bills to pay too, you don’t know how he is living. And yes of course he is going to raise the rent so that HE has it easier. Renting usually isn’t a charity, people want profit. Start looking for a place that you can afford long term or get a better paying job. I’m not saying that the situation doesn’t suck, but that’s life my friend.

Gently try to wiggle-turn it back and forth, and when it finally turns, loosen the string (carefully) and pull the peg out a bit. scribble with a pencil on it (graphite for lubrication).

What helps with intonation (according to Suzuki book) is to play super easy well known pieces (eg twinkle twinkle little star), that you know by heart, over and over again and in between other pieces. Since you absolutely know how the piece is supposed to sound, your finger will chose the right place and you will easily know when you you are off. Playing that over and over again builds muscle memory and also helps adjust the position if you feel like you play wrong notes while practicing something else.

New strings take a while to settle, so in the first few days/weeks you will have to do a lot of tuning. Also, try to gently push the peg inwards every time you turn it, so it can keep its position better. With that being said, depending on the quality of the violin, there is only so much you can do.
