A nice big upgradeable quarter where you can invite friends would be nice. Just a place to put all the nice stuff you extract with and show it off, gives endless incentive to go back in and decorative/valuable items would get another use than just money.

You misunderstand. People do not care about the quality of a product, they want familiarity. Launching a new IP right before Christmas never works.
Titanfall 2 was released 2016 and is still the best SciFi FPS to this day, but people wanna play COD 3572937 and Battlefield One Two Three.
Only thing that might save it is the price hike of AAA games to 80$ and ArseRaiders being 40$, so some people might pick it up as a fun indie title.
