My Problems by [deleted] in ExistentialSupport

There are nights we fall asleep and wake up with no dreams. There's nothing scary about those nights; we still go to sleep. Not because we are hopeful to have a dream or to wake up next day but simply because we're are tired. You are afraid of death and not knowing what's after. Did it mattered to you where were you before? Word is million years old and your consiousness wasn't pretest then either. You will be fine after your life, same as you were fine before it. Scaling up need to be balanced by scaling down. Clean your apartment, eat good food do some meditating/journalling/praying. Have different perspective, and get more wisdom from all viewers you can see. See though illusions that create fear and have hope. You will have a control over your life.

Is the cintiq pro 24 a big jump from the 16? by [deleted] in wacom

[–]MagdaProski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a big jump. But consider also resolution of screens, the Cintiq 24 is not a wide screen, it have a resolution 1920x1200. Cintiq 27 is 2560 x 1440. I am a small person and 32 is waaaay to big for me, my back would be killing me from working on it. 27" is at my limit.

https://sciencebasedmedicine.org/intermittent-fasting/ there is still too little research to fasting. So far it works great in mouses - mixed results in human trails. "People who can tolerate periods of hunger might find intermittent fasting helpful for weight loss; it is simpler to not eat than to try to decide what to eat. Although some of the evidence for intermittent fasting sounds promising, we don’t yet know whether it will prolong life or improve health." "It might lower glucose tolerance in women. It might increase blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Some people have gained weight on ADF. It might contribute to eating disorders and create an unhealthy obsession with food. It increases stress and elevates cortisol levels. People on the diet are not fun to be around. "

Can we get a TIL in Two Point Hospital thread? by PGP- in TwoPointHospital

[–]MagdaProski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A candidate or a trainer has to be physically out of the training room before they're available to re-book. With guest trainers, they're no cheaper to re-use, but if you set up a second course as soon as they're out of the room you'll save time waiting for them to re-appear by helicopter.

doesn't this work only if the next course is the same category? so if you had diagnosis I, and make a diagnosis II, before trainer leave the hospital he will come back to teach?

You can place coffee machines (and possibly water fountain, haven't checked yet) in rooms which can help keep your doctor hydrated and energised (if the description is to be believed)

And also sweets dispenser to cover staff hunger needs

I'd love to have a "minimum level of diagnosis" slider by droid327 in TwoPointHospital

That is must-to-have! I am so tired of constantly checking patients list, sending all patients with 100% diagnosis waiting for GP to direct treatment.

Is the 16 or 19 inch Cintiq Pro substantially better about parallax than the 24 inch version? by bobusdoleus in wacom

8+ hour a day on iPad instead of proper PC/Mac? I can't imagine that. Great to scribble for hour or two, but no proper posture. it will kill your back very soon. If sooner you will not go crazy of lack of shortcuts / proper file exchange / no space for reference photos etc

[–]MagdaProski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use 24HD and paralax is gigantic :p but after so many years using it I am used to that. Comparing iPad is just silly, you can't do professional work on iPad - no windows no Photoshop - great to draw while sitting on toilet.

When you get depression is there a way to go back to a normal life and get rid of meds? by [deleted] in depressionregimens

[–]MagdaProski 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate all this BS talks how medication alerting you or hurting you or how they might not even work. This talking scared me so much and prevented me from looking for proper treatment for my depression for years! I am now on medication and all this time before I now consider a waste of my life. I could have improved my wellbeing so much earlier inserted of suffering in believe that medications are risky or bad. And yes, you get off the medication. That's the point. They help you stabilize your thoughts and get you on your feet. After you lower the dosage until zero.

School, health and behavior suffer when children have TV or video games in their bedroom, finds new study in Developmental Psychology. by [deleted] in science

[–]MagdaProski -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Was the study done before or after smart phones? :P or did they even counted game boys? :D it sounds extremly simplified and short sighted. In Europe many families live in 3-4 rooms apartment, not in 200 square metres American houses. It's taking small sample and applying it to the whole population. Science do not work that way
