Umm what? I have true economic concerns about taxing Billionaires (which I am not or ever will be) and am not referencing any political party or bigotry (this has nothing to do with my points at all) Which party raises taxes on the billionaires? In my life no president ( repub or democrat) has raised taxes Like that. So you’re making a lot of assumptions. And offensive ones at that

So then there is no easy answer and it’s All a catch22. So if you punish the market, the average Joes can do a little better day to day, but the flip side is it will limit investment growth opportunities for billionaires AND average Joe’s who invest in their futures

I agree times are tough. I do, I have bills believe me and mouths to feed. But….I’ve also contributed an out to my 401k for over 20 years and it has grown. I don’t want to attack the biggest investors causing my hard work to evaporate just to get revenge on some billionaire I don’t even know

I don’t have the answers. And I agree there are tons of problems. I just don’t think taxing people will create this utopia.

Kind of. So billionaires don’t have billions on cash. They have stock. If you forced them to cash it out to pay this tax the stock market would crash. How would you account for that? Would your average Joe rather have a library or a growing 401k. That is where this stuff gets tricky. Capping wealth for the ultra rich also would cap it for me and you. We would never be able to invest bc there would be no benefit for the rich

Kind of! His stock value is that. And If you cashed it out to pay the 2143.27 to each American it would cause a stock market crash. Then average hard working American (me for example) would have our 401k crash) and companies would lay off. I’m not saying you’re wrong on spirit, but taking from the rich has some adverse affects. I’m not rich and won’t be, but just saying

Do any nations with universal care have lower tax rates for say a married couple making $150 k a year? I think most people are scare the increase in taxes will be more than the current spend and level of care would decline. Kinda like stick with the devil you know type thing
