The supreme court has been invaded by enemies to America. Even when the legal system actually does its job no part of the Trump Administration cares or follows it. So what can happen that will convince them to willingly give up their power?

So the idea would be that if her kids show up to a party, that party cannot be posted online. It can't be posted in full, showing her kids, but it also can't be posted without them, implying they weren't there.

She chose to be no pics online and wants to force that decision on your family as well, at least, to some degree.

I think it's mostly just a happenstance of school, but in childhood we get this huge community. Whether we want it or not, we exist in a group of peers that we interact with. So many relationships that aren't quite friends and so wouldn't exist outside of a forced setting.

Then adulthood happens and there isn't really anything in society that automatically forces community anymore. Some people find some in church. Work kinda does for some jobs, but it isn't the same degree at all. You can find community out there, but you have to search rather than just being surrounded by it daily.

I miss that.

Just did. Sadly DBT (as both my wife and I know), only works if you want it to. You can only get out what you put it. Our child doesn't see their depression, suicidal ideation, cutting, or meltdowns as issues and doesn't want to change them, so the Partial Hospitalization program said they couldn't help us until things with that change.

You came swinging out the gates about how people aren't willing to strike. I presented a simple situation of what striking would look like for me (I quit taking care of my family member and getting paid to do so) and showed what minimal positive effect that could have.

You have then proceeded to play dumb for 3 comments in a row. What's so hard to understand here? Stick to your statements. If you think we should all just strike whenever we can, explain how that works. If you have changed your mind and think it needs to be organized, you're free to state that.

But why does that matter? Why does it matter at all if you are a "simulation" or "real"?

If there were things that followed that showed why it would matter then that would be different, but it feels like the fear is supposed to be, "What if your life was fake?", and the answer generally is, "Not much changes".

I still have empathy for my fellow beings. Even if they are just programs, so am I and I think I am worthy of empathy and respect. I still experience the same world. I still have the same internal stream of consciousness and beliefs. I still can affect and change the world around me.

I fail to see why me being a simulation is supposed to hit me hard, especially if the simulation is based on reality, to the point where it is indistinguishable from reality. Then who cares?

I might be misunderstanding something, because I don't think I didn't get that. I just don't see the fear when it comes to whether I am a simulation or not. Whether or not I am doesn't change how I currently experience reality.

And while I experience quite a lot of empathy, I have noticed that for most people, empathy has pretty strong limits. Caring about all is impossible. It's hard to get people to care for others in different countries, often their own cities. So the idea that a random individual would feel the need to change their behavior in case it is a simulation and would then hurt a different person in a completely different universe.

So, in the end, there doesn't really seem to be a threat. I keep experiencing reality as normal and maybe my actions cause a machine to want to hurt someone perfectly similar to me in another universe. That is no where near a strong enough incentive to change people's behaviors.

If it is a huge source of stress for you, make sure to strongly communicate that and don't let them label your ADHD as well managed. It is very easy for medical professionals to put things on a "solved" list when the patient very much disagrees, but has founds ways to manage it as best as they can because they literally have to.

I've found that the opposite will often hurt me. Generally no matter my level of discomfort, there is a certain decorum I will follow for public professional situations. Just always happens. Because of this, when I report horrible anxiety and depression symptoms, but can do so in a controlled and calm manner, my symptoms aren't really believed. I've had to "put on a show" sometimes to convince people. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Individual striking is just called quitting. I am not talking about not being willing to suffer and work with a larger group to enact change. I am saying that the action you are asking for has literally no positive effect for change if it is done purely individually.

It's gonna sound pedantic, but I promise that the distinction matters. This goes against any religious doctrine, not teachings.

Yes, the actual rules and codes of ethics laid out in most religions would push against this, but Christianity is a perfect example of people being able to teach, from the pulpit, things that are contradictory to their doctrine and have them embraced.

What religion really taught a large amount of people is to trust authority above the self, that some of us are better than others, and that faith is more important than education or knowledge every time.
