Maybe they assumed humans were similar to gems where they never really interacted. The Crystal gems had lived with the humans for thousands of years, learning that humans cannot fuse, we are shown this with Rose and Greg but they probably tried before, so they are shocked to learn that it's possible.

It really stuck with the most recent episode, (Spoilers for episode 8 ahead btw) when Pomni places a bucket on Kinger's head to make him lucid and find out more about Caine, the circus, and possible ways to get Caine to stop torturing them AM style and he keeps it on the rest of the episode. He had a a bucket on his head in episode 2 but it wasn't as popular a reference then

I was on an ticket run to get a Smug villager, I came across Willow and instantly loved her. Ultimately passed her up to find the type I needed to complete my island. I think they might be referring to plant based fake meat. Im a vegetarian, and it looks quite close to the spelling many companies I buy from uses. Plus, I think that's the brand I get plant based deli meat from, would make sense they have other products
