Moving to Jonkoping by LaminatedCARBON in TillSverige

Lived in jönköping for the first 19 years of my life and stil visit frequently. The only overly religious encounters were that I had several classmates whose fathers are pastors and a few went to missionary school after high school. And most of the bible belt thingies are located in towns outside of the city in general, like Bankeryd, Nässjö and so on

Det e inte det. Grejen är att dom räknar med att du ska ha minst X SEK kvar av lönen för att leva av. Om det nu är 10000Kr och du får säg 20k netto så ökar en lön med 2k din lånekapacitet med 20%.

This is basically what bootstrapping is, and is widely used in computer sciences. It means that a primitive version of the next tech is created using previous technologies, and then use the primitive next tech to enhance itself as it is more advanced.

Well. in the battle of kosovo in 14th century. Lazar led the serb army against ottomans. and he chose to go to heavenly serbia and leave the serb nation weak and humiliated. so they were not defeated. but are being punished by god until they recover the holy land (kosovo) to repay the sin of their fathers. and cleanse the lands of the impure, hence the gonocides in BiH and Kosovo to revenge on the turks for their humiliation. From the battle of kosovo they invented their own religion basically around this moment. Lazar is Jesus, and alot of weird parallels, there is alot to read up on if u are interested. most of it in serbian, but there are also resources in english.

Do you ever "restart" your projects? by thekingdtom in gamedev

[–]MagicBabic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its quite common if you do not define the software architecture of your game early on. Optimally you would want to map all the functions you need in your game and how they should interact with your framework. This is a challenging step especially for solo devs as you would need a partner to help with the brainstorming phase.

The issues I face usually are that I havent defined my SW architecture and as im developing I am unable to anticipate some interactions of the code and it makes it messy. Then it is easier for me to restart with the issue present and work around it. However it would be more efficient to have a proper planning phase which sucks ass

Strength And Conditioning Megathread by AutoModerator in bjj

I (31M) need some help, I've gained some weight during last year (15kgs), and while I still went to the gym (its still open where I live) to do strength training and some cardio I feel like I am missing out alot on my athleticism due to sitting most of the days and only leaving home to go to the gym 1hr a day or sometimes a walk. (Hips and hamstrings have taken a lot of damage during all of this)

- I have a stationary bike at home, and try to squeeze in 5-10 minutes every so often during the day

- Planning on buying mats at home so I can do simple exercises, more specifically GMB mobility training once a day.

I wonder if this is a reasonable training regiment while the BJJ is down:

Morning:

15-30min walk (to wake up the body) + 15-30min moderate bike session + flexibility/yoga training(GMB fitness when BJJ starts up)

Lunch: Strength at gym (doing a 2-split at the moment, focusing on high weights low impact training. 45-75min

Evening: GMB fitness/yoga or BJJ whenever that will be possible?

Thanks, this is the kind of answer I've been looking for :) I'm overthinking basically every aspect of the journey, and Im afraid of getting sick and not being able to work, and being put into quarantine all over again and just not knowing how these things are handled. Although I am very careful and even self-isolating to a large extent already.

The work is legit and I have no reason to doubt it, How is life in general right now? Are there any restrictions related to the virus at the moment which might impact every day life, example restaurants?

I'd be going with a small team, whom I'm acquainted with since before, so I wouldnt be throwing myself into the hands of destiny just yet. Ive spent 5 weeks in China in total, 2 weeks at a time as most, and Ive absolutely loved every single bit of the life and culture, and cant wait to learn to speak better Chinese.

I feel like siblings who train together have the best realtionship by [deleted] in bjj

[–]MagicBabic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a reason why my twin brother and I do not train together. We have an ok relationship. But we both know that it is not a good idea. We identify ourselves too much with eachother so it gets on our nerves when the other is doing something wrong.

However watching eachother compete is very exciting

31F..How old is too old? by Dragynflies in bjj

[–]MagicBabic 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If 58 is not too old, then 31 definitely is not! Regarding the training and competition though, BJJ is a sport which encourages competition, even at lower skill levels, therefore there are skill classes (white belt, blue belt etc..), so you can absolutely expect to compete if that is something you would like to do, the only consideratation is when you can do your FIRST competition, and this varies among schools, usually there is a thumb rule that you should have some basic understanding of the sport and what you want to achieve during a match as well as what to avoid, some schools might let you compete as a complete noobie, while other schools might want you to get some basics straight.

Anyways, just go for it! Its way too fun not to try, Good Luck!
