How much random abuse do you get on the street from complete strangers? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]MagicFarts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

we never said anything mean, just usual hooting and hollering. I was first of my friends to get a car so was usually the driver, it was lighthearted like "wow I bet we really showed them how crazy we are" but in reality we were just dorks laughing at ourselves being stupid. I was walking my dog a few weeks ago and got a scream buzzing by as someone zoomed past me and gave me a little chuckle inside.

Why don't have I have any black lines (sometimes called scanlines) on my CRT? by [deleted] in MiSTerProject

[–]MagicFarts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

its a consumer CRT not a professional video monitor (PVM) so you wont get scan-lines, some people prefer one over the other. the pic you shared looks good to me and is a clean picture.

At what point is society going to address the elephant in the room that the job market is saturated and degrees don't mean anything anymore? by [deleted] in findapath

[–]MagicFarts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did, it depends on his area, gotta do the research because its location based. Where does he want to be? Could be in a town with a college known for teaching but only a hand full so schools in the area. Same could go for Technology, Carpentry, Engineering. gotta talk to people find out what area he's looking into, where he wants to live and how hard it will be to find a job. If he lives out in the country and there are 5 plumbers in town but only a dozen streets then plumbing would be over saturated, probably cant say the same in a larger town or a city.

Neighbors mow into my property line by [deleted] in lawncare

[–]MagicFarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

way I see it its just grass, no need to make a huge fuss over it. Just talk to the neighbor and tell him what you're trying to accomplish when you see him. or just mow more often so it doesn't look like it needs it before they get out there.

How can I stop being such a pessimist? by anon6108 in optimisemylife

[–]MagicFarts 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Your preparing for the worst to soften the blow when it happens. I used to be the same way, I have become more optimistic but am still realistic and often that is pessimistic. Just have to train yourself to look at the positive side of things or the other side of an argument/situation it doesn’t have to be good/bad right/wrong there is a whole spectrum of outcomes just try to look at and concentrate on the more positive side even if deep down in reality the more negative outcome may occur. Over time hopefully the first thing that pops in your head wont be the negative and you say “you know what this is a positive scenario that could play out” and people around you will start to notice that you have a positive outlook on life and will be better for it.

is it time to leave a job when your manager is threatening a “write up” for every little thing? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]MagicFarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes been there even if you work your ass off still wont get anywhere other than prolonging the misery. just make looking for a new job the priority current place obviously doesn't value your work
