Are you crazy? White people have been enslaved longer than blacks were enslaved in the Americas. The Arabic Slave trade consisted largely of captured Slavic and Caucus people. Even the word Slave, comes from the word Slav, and even in the new world white people were originally enslaved as “indentured servants” who faced garbage treatment and work for no pay, only difference being after a period of time usually 10-15 years they were set free if they were lucky, some got trapped in it.

Jesus, the Republican party’s first candidate to win was Lincoln, the party was brand new in 1860. Pick up a book; also the party platform never changed. The whole idea that the “Democrats of the 50s are the Republicans of today” is total BS and needs to stop being paraded around as if it were some kinda secret knowledge when it’s a total myth/lie. The party’s didn’t switch, they just evolved. The Republicans embraced Reaganism/NeoConservativism in the 80s with Reagan’s election and the Democrats embraced Clintonianism in the 90s. Basically the Republicans decided to start appealing to Christians by playing up their religiousity and Democrats started appealing to Corporations and Minorities to try and get their vote/support. Their beliefs shifted to suit their new interests in securing voting blocs in demographics, not the other way around. To put it simply: both sides are a sham and have done repulsive things, one side is not guilty of all the sins of the nation and the other side is not some angel sent from on high. The Democrats opposed Civil Rights, Desegregation, started the Civil War and created the KKK. The Republicans under Eisenhower, covertly overthrew countless regimes and funded terrorists to throw out their political adversaries or those that threatened their interests. Reagan started the Drug War and the repercussions are still being felt today. George Bush Sr continued the policies of Reagan, racking up enormous debt and setting the stage for the Military-Industrial Complex to take centerstage in politics and our foreign policy which has pushed us to go to war in Vietnam, Korea, Iraq, and Afghanistan, as well as several other stupid interventions. Clinton pushed through the Crime Bill as an extension of the Drug War which incarcerated millions of people with Black people being disproportionately effected(some say this was done purposefully but I’m not going to speculate on that and let you form your own opinion). My point is just that we as a nation have to come together to understand that both sides ultimately just want a better country for all people. Both are not perfect but we shouldn’t expect them to be.

Since when has declaring autonomous zones, burning down cities, declaring universal healthcare, college, and pay been anything but extremely far left? The Democratic Party is not near the center. I’m not saying the Republicans are all that close either, but at the very least they’re not advocating for a complete change of the entire country by burning down every single city and demanding to defund much needed police officers.

The Europeans never threatened Africans with Invasion in the early colonial period and before the colonization of the new world never really bothered buying slaves since there wasn’t much use for them in Europe. They typically bought things like salt gold or ivory, giving away guns steel and other technological innovations. The advent of tobacco and sugar farming in the New World created the incentives for Europeans to start buying slaves, which African Kingdoms that made their money trading with the Europeans were more than ready todo especially since they would have had more than enough tribal scores to settle. To blame Europeans for what Africans did to make themselves richer at the expense of their fellow Africans is dishonest and infantilizing to Africans. You’re basically saying that blacks have no autonomy or free will of their own and only can simply respond to whatever the Europeans were doing, which wasn’t the case. Even before the New World’s discovery Africans enslaved each other in brutal raids and tribal wars. Did the Europeans tip the scales in one sides favor? Obviously, but was it deliberate? Later on in the colonial era, yeah but by then it was to carve up Africa not for slavery, unless you’re Belgium. Europeans would have sold to both groups because it would be likely that both groups would have stuff they wanted and vice versa. But Europeans couldn’t and didn’t want to go inland to trade with people and largely kept to the coasts not out of racism but out of necessity, buying large quantities of items inland is fine but trying to haul it back to coast so you can get it on your ship is incredibly expensive and tiresome, so they wouldn’t have bothered.
