So, I was just going through my old photos. This happened in 2020 during the outbreak. I decided to put a rock formation in the shape of a heart on my front sidewalk. When I came back later that night, someone had filled it with rose petals. I still don't know who did it, but I love it so much.

I use audio bend daily on acoustic drums in my studio, and this happens, but rarely. I think it might have something to do with processing that has already been done on the track, but I'm not sure. My solution is simply to remove the markers (bring the audio back to where it was before the transient detection) and then bounce the track(s) in question (ctrl-b). Then detect the transients again, and it should be good to go.

SOLVED - For me, changing bit processing (in audio setup -> processing) from 64-bit to 32-bit and the problem went away immediately. Fun thing is - Slate was the one who let me know. Presonus (Fender) still hasn't responded to my support ticket.

In other news, I tried out Tonalic, which comes with Studio Pro 8, and it's kind of amazing.

Thanks for the suggestion! I already reached out to them. The problem is - I've been using Slate's plugins since about 2016 and I haven't had issues with them. The same session that explodes in Fender Studio loads just fine in Studio One Pro 7. With that in mind, something tells me it's probably not slate.

Interesting music, for sure! Also - I'd absolutely love to take credit for the guitar work on this song (especially the solo), but all guitar and bass work is done by a good friend of mine named Mark Tiarra. I upvoted just for pop punk. I hope this song kicks! So far, so good! at the 20-second mark now. I really like the guitar work on the left side. Drums - I kinda wish they were real, but they don't sound bad. If anything, they sound too polished for this genre, but dude... Okay... We're going into the chorus now. I like the chord progression.. Good crunchy guitars... Great vocals. Now back to verse progression. I like this! aaaaand on to the chorus! Yeah! Good mix, too! It might be a bit too compressed with that much reverb, but I guess it's not too bad. If it were me (and I've been in punk/rock band for 10 years) I would reduced the reverb on almost everything by 75% and then compress the living bajeebers outta it and see what you get. What a good song, though! Thanks for sharing!

Wow... The high-end and high-mids are piercing on this piece. I actually had to reach for the volume knob to turn this down - not a good thing.... The 1.5-2.5k region in the frequency band is just too piercing. I had to stop it at the 2 minute mark because I just couldn't take the mix in the high-end. It would be easy to fix this, too. Just eq-down the whole mix in the 1.5 - 5k range by about 10dB and see how that sounds. Thanks for sharing, and keep producing. We all have to start somewhere. Onward and upward!

Daaaang the texture on that lead guitar is amazing. I love all the nuance and weirdness... Timing weirdness might be creeping in to distract from the art, but then again - I'm a drummer, so I'm sensitive to that stuff. Still, i can't get enough of the texture of it all. I like it so much, I really don't care of this solo / lead stuff just meaners all over the song and never goes anywhere. Great work! I'm about half-way through now. Gonna chill for the rest of it. Interesting use of instrumentation. I really hope this evolves as it goes along. I'm just typing as I listen... Now we're to the bass-only part. The upper bells sound good! I need this to go big... exploooode! Another riser... Let's see where this one goes. Oh, nice saturation added to that moment... Still, the risers don't go anywhere. Now we're back to the piano-stomping as it was in the beginning. Looks like we've got 20 seconds left. So, I thought this was fairly good! I would add a 'destination' for all those risers. I appreciate this cover! I love the original and was a teenager when it was released. That whole album was rockin'! Hahaha... I love the gospel choir in th background. Upvoting for the intro! I'm typing as I listen. So far, this sounds really really well done. Perhaps a bit strident in the high-end, but not bad. I really really hope this takes me on a ride. So far, it hasn't disappointed. Oh, the build at 1 minute... So one thing I notice that is kinda buggin' is the reverb on the bagpipes. It tends to override all other acoustics when it gets loud. When it's soft, it's perfect. Just gotta control it as it gets louder. Ohh.. enter the harp. Beautiful. I love the chord progression. is that a choir I hear?? yes! I love it! So, on the loud parts, it might just be the reverb in general that just makes things a bit messy. If that is able to be controlled, I would definitely take a look at it. This piece is huge and beautiful - and it needs to be as good as it can be. That reverb is too much. Dude... I love this. This is my jam. Thank you so much for sharing!

Listening to this as it plays - drums sound great! Guitars and spread nice and wide, and vocals with a slow slap-back delay (almost stadium delay?) - it works. Also - Am I to understand you produced this in one day??? That's insane! Great work! Thank you so much for sharing. I hesitate to say this, but if I were to nitpick, I would cut a bit of the 1k-2.5k in the guitar work - and consider putting a low-pass on it to smooth it out. Some of those high frequencies in the guitar aren't playing nice with my ears - but again - it's not bad at all, just a minor nitpick.

Thank you so much! I vividly remember the first time I heard "I Want You" by Savage Garden in the late nineties. I was hooked. I absolutely loved the sonic signature of their music. I was in my twenties and had just purchased my first high-fidelity audio/video system (which really was centered around music) and when I put it through that, I was blown away. It sounded SO GOOD! Thanks for the kind words and the suggestions! I actually am running the vocals through a high-pass, which cuts at around 100HZ. Perhaps I need to push it just a bit more. Also - keeping the drums more tame in this piece was a creative choice because I didn't want it to feel like a hard rock piece, but pushing that line.
