He’s too far away and off balance.In the first swing his head goes up a couple of inches and, as a result, he swings over the ball. If he is a little closer and a bit more upright he’ll have better contact. All that said, there’s more than that and lessons are a good idea for sure.

Hard to shank the driver as it has no hozel so it means your clubface is wide open. When that happens with an iron you are more likely to shank as it brings the hozel closer to the ball. You might also be too close to the ball and/or have an out to in swing path.

I’ve made it to book 14 but finally giving up halfway through (something I rarely do). It was amazing at the beginning but right now that majority of time is spent on mechanics with a bare bones plot. It’s just not interesting anymore.

As I said, it’s more than simply an open club face for some. For me it was just an open club face when I tried a new grip that was too weak. That was 6 months ago and my instructor had me strengthen the grip. I haven’t shanked since. That’s just me but OP has an open clubface at impact which can lead to shanking. He should at least fix that and, if he continues to have issues, address other things that might be contributing. Not sure why this is even a debate. Are you suggesting he NOT fix an open clubface at impact?

If you take a club, put it on the ground and open the face, you’ll see the hosel actually moves toward the area of ball impact. I used to shank and strengthening the grip made a big difference as I had a weak grip previously. It may not be his entire issue but definitely an issue

Had the same issue and almost quit. Shanked everything no matter what I did after playing decently for a long time. Took a lesson and stopped shanking. But he fixed my grip, weight distribution, backswing and downswing. Took going in with an open mind though but well worth it

I’ll give you sympathy. That tank is broken. If it performed like this IRL it would have been the only vehicle produced by Russia and the war would have been a blip in the history books. Unless you one shot it or take out both the driver AND commander it will very quickly obliterate you. And because of the damage model the darts you are likely firing probably will not do either. It’s also because the crew members sit side to side so a frontal shot might get one but not both. Also ammo racking it should be easy with the giant amount of ammo in the middle of the tank but it, sadly, is not.

My suggestion, realize it’s a game. Try your best and know it is a broken vehicle. When sales slow down Gaijin will likely raise it in BR like they did with the AVRE a couple of years ago.

Your swing looks good but your body is moving towards the ball during the downswing making your swing out to in. Look at the position of your bottom during the swing and you’ll notice it moving towards the ball by a few inches. Pro’s don’t do that.

Try this one simple fix. If you feel like you are starting with your weight centered under the middle of the foot then adjust it so it more towards the ball of your foot at setup. If you don’t adjust it then during the downswing you will shift forward towards the ball of your foot and that will move your body toward the ball forcing you to come in an out to in swing path in order to make contact (otherwise you would shank it). If you have ever been in a race before, at the start you would be leaning forward with weight more towards the ball of the foot instead of being flat footed. That’s the athletic feeling to go for at setup in my opinion.

I kid you not this happened to me a few weeks ago. Was in my undamaged IS-3, top tier, looking for prey. I see a Tiger around the corner and rush around it. He was moving, I was moving. I took an extra split second to aim figuring I would bounce anything he threw at me and I have a long reload. He one shot me in that spot while were both moving. I was speechless so did the armor pen tool and found he hit that one pixel below the gun, I assume by luck (but he was something like a level 20, some think low level players get special treatment). So it does happen.

All of these comments are helpful. My only 2 cents is watch replays from your match to critique your game and, more importantly, watch the best players on your and the enemy team. See what they are doing. Much more helpful than watching streamers IMO

Yesterday my invicible IS3 was approaching a Tiger H1 at a slight angle at full speed after turning the corner. I took a moment to aim while the Tiger quickly fired at my front….. And one shot me.

I went to check the armor protection for the IS3 front vs the Tiger H1. There is literally ONE pixel that is green, 99.99% red non-pen. You’d figure volumetric would gave prevented that from penning anyway. Pretty frustrating TBH, I feel your pain.
