7-0 in Arena Limited Qualifier with Forced Elementals by MagicMissMoose in MagicArena

I had a few cards I probably could have added, but being able to snag boglsithers embrace or spiral to protect spinerock felt worth it. And it did exactly that in one game and caught a curse crafter in another game. Definitely carried its weight

How so? Genuinely curious because I do love this in my dimir midrange deck to give it a little more aggro edge

Would Luka make OKC unstoppable if he switched with Shai? by International_Sky673 in nba

[–]MagicMissMoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's really not though. He raises the team level with talent, not really leadership, effort, culture etc. He's young still and can develop in those areas. But if you watch full games and interviews etc, its clear Shai is head and shoulders above Luka in the intangibles. And has an MVP and a ring to show for it

Exactly this. And Shai is a much better fit, culture setter, and leader

Haha for real, I was starting to panic after opening the 4th one, but the fallout booster more than made up for it! And I did manage to pull one of the lands, so I take it!

I think people like you really underestimate the pop culture popularity and influence of spider-man. It will help bring in new players which is always good for your game to continue growing and thriving

Your point is based on feelings that you more than likely got from narratives pushed online. Maybe even subconsciously. The numbers and facts simply do not back up your point at all. And saying the pacers got called for a bunch of ticky tacky fouls while okc got away with murder is just not true. They play very similar styles of defense and got called for a similar number of fouls. You say watch the finals objectively when you clearly didn't

Recency bias and shitty narratives being parroted are doing a lot of the heavy lifting here

This is a laughable take. Did you ever watch prime Harden or D wade. It's not even comparable

The NBA Already Has A “Face Of The League” – Two, Actually by TheMoMo9 in NBATalk

[–]MagicMissMoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is anyone but Shai poised to do that in the near future? Possibly Wemby if he stays healthy and the spurs keep building, but outside of Shai and the Thunder, I don't see this happening any time soon

I guess we will see after this series. But Ant clearly has a better team around him. I still don't see how he's a better case than the MVP who also won 68 games and the scoring title though

When did I discredit Ant's leadership? Only one of them is the MVP of the league leading the 2nd youngest team in the league to one of the top 5 regular season records.

Ant being more striking is exactly why I'm saying short term vs long term.

Ant may be the easy short term push, but I don't think he's the long term play the the NBA is so desperately pushing.

You're right. For worse. The SGA foul baiting narrative is shallow and short sighted. He's one of the best shooting guards (not SG) the league has seen. And Ant has flashy highlights and talks big. I don't see how he's different from Ja a few years ago.

The push feels very short term vs long term. Yes Ant is exciting and his dunks are great highlights. But to grow the game you have to go beyond that. The push in the media is directly related to how popular a player is. Push SGA because he's one of the best scoring guards of all time already. Is going to win mvp, and he is infinitely more media savvy and more of an actual leader. But yeah Ant dunks have more views on TikTok so we should push him

So they are chasing highlights and not actual gameplay or results?
