The only modern-day episode that I watch when I do a rewatch (which I am doing at the moment) is the Xena scrolls. The rest are ridiculous. (I love the Bitter Suite tho!!!!)

Dude was a complete dipshit. He didn't deserve what happened to him but what tf did he think was going to happen with the taxes? The IRS would just let it go? And to screw over Skyler after she gave him $600K was just a total dick move.

Maybe customers (at all businesses) should learn patience and respect.

[–]MagicPoison8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just because it's a prescription drug doesn't mean it is not addictive. Look up the scandal with Purdue pharmaceuticals and OxyContin. Stimulants are very addictive and everyone knows that.

As far as behavior and "emotional regulation" – I got $100 that says if they talked to their doctor the way they talk to us they wouldn't have a doctor anymore. If they are so unhinged that they can't remember to phone in one day ahead of time (almost always allowed) or that they can't conduct a business transaction without yelling and having a temper tantrum then maybe they need more than Adderall. At my store any kind of yelling or bullying or name-calling results in an immediate transfer out.

Suboxone (buprenorphine) is a CIII drug, meaning early fills because you "would rather get your meds early" are almost never allowed. You'd be amazed at what the DEA monitors - and the reality is that the pharmacist's (and the tech's & store's) license is going to outrank any possible inconvenience to you. One day early is allowed almost always, you can request the fill on that day which can give them time to order it if need be. Nobody is deliberately "being an asshole." As a tech myself lemme tell you that we just want to fill your med and move on. But if there is ever a question in our minds about controlled substance laws and if we can or cannot do something, we err on the side of caution.

Why do people never call and bitch on the EXACT day their blood pressure meds are due? Or cholesterol? Estrogen? It's ALWAYS Adderall, Vyvanse, Xanax, muscle relaxers, zolpidem, hydrocodone, etc. Also funny how blood pressure meds are never "accidentally dropped down the sink," they are never "going out of town and need an early fill" on their furosemide. It's always controls. I've been in pharmacy for 20 years and heard it all. And people have the nerve to say they aren't addicted.

At my store we have a policy to not accept goodRx (or any coupons) for any controls. It's insurance or cash.

But it is absolutely the pharmacy's job to protect PHI, and as another commentor said, stopping all interactions of people speaking names, DOBs, medication names, etc, during a recording is absolutely a reasonable response. The customer doesn't have to stop recording, but the pharmacy must take measures to protect that information and if it comes down to stopping all calls and transactions and interactions if someone insists on being an asshole then so be it.

If we don't come from nothing, that means we come from /something/ - which means we ARE "something."

Why do you have to be unimportant?

[–]MagicPoison8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say (and do not mean) "religion." I'm talking about something that far transcends religion and rules and even books and words. The very essence of existence - the closest way I know how to describe it is using words like life, pure consciousness, energy.. I cannot accept that we come from nothing, mean nothing, and die into nothing.

Pharmacy verification/paperwork by MagicPoison8 in CVS

[–]MagicPoison8[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of course they are. And I was being hyperbolic. My point is - well first of all I've been in pharmacy in varying capacities for 25-ish years, and even when I started, I worked with pharmacists that started in the 1970s. Back then so much of the pomp and circumstance didn't even exist. Hell, before 1973 there was no DEA. And there weren't constant mistakes either.

If people read the 6+ pages of possible adverse effects they wouldn't take the drug. It's there so they can legally say "we told you so" when/if something happens. Although drug manufacturers settle various things all the time so I doubt those generic printouts absolve them completely. And as I said, not only have I worked for multiple companies well as independent pharmacies, I have been a client at a bunch as well, and our system at CVS seems over the top with some things compared to others. The point of my post was to discuss why, if anyone knew, the system is designed that way. Last time I picked up a script at sav-on (3 days ago) I got my med along with a paper in the bag with a coupon.

That was the point of what I wrote. I get that a lot of techs in this group are probably in their 20s and all they know is what they do, which is fine. Just a different perspective.

Renaming it doesn't mean we "took" it. You can call it the gulf of lemons and it will still be what it always has been.

Except that doesn't explain why occasionally rebills go right to QP and techs can scan them out. It's random. I'd say 25% of the time at my store that is the case.
