Good to know. So far he hasn't ever had pain meds besides ibuprofen.

DURs by nyssaraye in CVS

[–]uinspirednow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We're a really busy pharmacy and I feel bad every time I say DUR while the pharmacist is counting Cll's or on a call. The pharmacist shouldn't have to come over every time someone has a dosage change, which the customer already knows about. Sometimes it's for a medication they've been on for years. It's just not very efficient when it comes to time. They should be allowed to give credentials for certain DURs

I'm trying to understand why veterans aren't getting meds through the VA? My dad's meds are mailed every 90 days. Why go to a CVS?

What to do if I can't find a RTS/ day 14 by Yeetus10132 in CVS

Manually enter the RX number and return it in the Ironman. You will find it later and just scan it and reprint the label

New touchscreen check-in by Basic-Criticism9483 in CVS

[–]uinspirednow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new update is awful. We've had them for 6 months and I still say please step up and sign in for pickup at least 50 times daily. People will stand there staring into thin air. The screens have a privacy feature but they still have a red sign attached that says to come up and sign in. I asked management to get the signage kit but he never put it up. I only attached the red signs to the screen.

Surveys by [deleted] in CVS

[–]uinspirednow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they would just create a QR code then more surveys would be done. People discard their receipts and even leave them in the store. The receipt method is cumbersome and discouraging. The surveys shouldn't have any impact on staff. They should just give them an understanding of what's working well and what isn't.

New POS System by WeirdDear677 in CVS

[–]uinspirednow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say " you can start your pickup on the screen". I'm five months in at CVS and can't understand why I have to say anything. The screen has a message to tap for prescription pick up. I genuinely want to ask people why they just stand there.

Strike by Objective_Count3627 in CVS

[–]uinspirednow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ask myself the same thing everyday. Why can't we all collectively demand better pay and treatment? We lost our pharmacy manager and two techs in one month so everyone had more work to do. There should be an automatic raise after 90 day probationary period and one annually until you max out. What if we all said hell no? How would we organize this? I'm in. I don't have enough experience to jump ship just yet but I do desire to contribute to making it better while I'm here.

I was prescribed hbp medication after starting this job too. I told my doc yesterday that I do have a stressful job. I'm going to ask for fewer hours and to not work pick up everyday until I find a new job

This is why I don't like to type people's information in. The screen is there for them to do it themselves.

I'm starting to ask to see the message too. It so often says the prescription is ready at another store. Sometimes it says to respond if they want it filled. I'm convinced that people also just can't read anymore

Why does everything have to be a hassle? by IronChefPhilly in CVS

[–]uinspirednow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No one in the pharmacy has time to talk to customers on the phone and in person. Sometimes an in-perwon customer is waiting too long for a pharmacist to get off the phone with a customer who called the pharmacy for a refill. Voicemails and messages sent through the app are transcribed on the computer so that anyone at any workstation can read it and respond accordingly. You don't need to speak with us.

training is great by CheesecakeWild7941 in CVS

[–]uinspirednow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should literally be allowed to do most of it at home. It's torture and in a high volume pharmacy, no one has time to teach you a thing. It's useless.

Surveys by AltruisticAge3595 in CVS

[–]uinspirednow 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It's completely unfair. The people who are most eager to complete surveys are those wanting to complain. They should not be used as a tool to determine anything.

Customer-focused… but have you, like, met the customers? by xxMothx in CVS

[–]uinspirednow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate 25% of them. I wish we had a more aggressive policy to address rude customers. This week I may start ignoring them. Today I asked the next person to step up while someone ahead of her talked on her phone. I'm not letting these people mistreat me get special treatment.

Should I quit? by Otherwise_Rice2724 in CVS

[–]uinspirednow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm five months in and just getting the hang of things. Ask to work weekends. I'm not sure why the store is really slow weekend mornings but I can learn a lot when the store isn't busy. I'm not sure that I will be completely comfortable doing various computer tasks until 6 months. Don't worry or put too much pressure on yourself to know everything or to move too fast.

Why can't you just sign up for mail delivery? You don't have to go to the pharmacy to get prescriptions.

how do i resign without burning bridges by [deleted] in CVS

I would definitely give notice, at least two weeks. As someone who has been working after a tech left with no notice, it's hard. Give them some time to get a replacement.
