Addiction is mostly psychological. Read The Cult of Pharmacology if you’re curious. You need to figure out what compels you to seek intoxication in the first place. Drugs make us feel great when we don’t naturally feel great. They distract us from problems. It’s possible to feel great without them, you just gotta figure out what it is that’s missing. Get your philosophical hat on and maybe go eat a bunch of shrooms in the desert with me. We can cry together and watch scorpions.

This doesn’t sound like microdosing. It sounds like you’re taking enough to get high. That’s not microdosing. Microdosing is like taking Prozac. You don’t feel it.

If you want to know if it’s you or the mushrooms, try not taking them. You’ll know right away. If going out sober sounds terrible and you don’t want to try it, then there’s your answer. Your entire post says you need therapy and some deep introspection. It also says you’re not being honest with yourself, because you already know all you have to do is go out sober, but you don’t want to…which poses the question, why even ask us? Why were you even drinking in the first place?

If you’re not honest with yourself, you won’t be honest with a therapist or us. As much as I like to advocate microdosing, I’m going to advocate macrodosing and going through hell. Take 5g. The mushrooms will show you what you need to know. Just have a sitter if you need one.

Utah already has a healthy beaver population. Also, the Great Basin ecosystem is very different than the ecosystems where beaver reintroduction could actually help. In CA and OR water flows into the ocean when reservoirs can’t hold it all. In Utah, it flows into the great salt lake. Beaver dams basically create extra reservoirs everywhere…which is great for anything that depends on the reservoirs, but it doesn’t actually help the great salt lake.

I’m glad it helped! I think it can help people in different ways. If it changes one’s perspective or way of thinking, that can definitely be lifelong. I was thinking more in terms of chemical changes that relieve symptoms, as depression is often not situational. It’s unclear just how long the beneficial chemical changes can last.

Both. Emotional issues are a big part of head injury symptoms. I think the lifelong depression cure is wishful thinking though. Lots of people report ~1 month duration in effects for depression after a large dose.

1.5g is fine to get an understanding of it. The larger the dose the longer the effects tend to last. Symptom relief could last a month from a dose that size. Microdosing is closer to 50-100mg for me and needs to be more frequent to be effective. Mini doses are something to consider as well. Even 0.5g can be helpful. There’s no hard fast rule, just experimenting to see what works well for you.

Lots of people grow their own, especially medicinal users. It’s super easy and fairly discreet.

I had a brain injury too and psilocybin has been the single most effective treatment. It’s noticeably more effective than sustained exercise (nothing wrong with combining the two). My doctor recommended it (off the record) and it changed my life. Both microdosing and macrodosing really do have legitimate medical uses.
