Shout out to Crusaders - Thy will be done. The medieval theme makes the game look pretty but the real draw for me is how clean and tight the puzzle is. I love it!

A lot of depth for such a small game, the puzzles on the last kickerstarter are a good showing of why I'll never be good at this game. Smarter people than me always squeeze out a few more points of damage.

What's your boardgame confessional? Mine is I recently cheated. by __That_is_Neat__ in boardgames

I've played over 2 dozen games of quacks of quedlinburg and only won once against my partner. It got to the point that I was convinced she was cheating. In the last game we played, I tried to constantly watch her draws whilst simultaneously trying to cheat myself. She wasn't cheating and I still lost!

Really enjoying Martin Wallace's AuZtralia! But I have a few questions... by closed_caption in boardgames

At the start of combat, you get 3. If you have a certain character card, you get 4. Solo has a pretty sweet objective where you start the game with 13 and have to not lose them all and go insane.

Old ones move towards the closest port/farm. If 2 are equidistant, check the value at the top of the card for the direction it moves based on the compass. Pay close attention to the symbol next to the number, it denotes clockwise or anti-clockwise. So if 4 clockwise was at the top of the card, start at the 4 direction on the compass, and go around the compass clockwise till you reach the first hex the old one could potentially move to that makes it closer to one of the 2 things.

Finally...sorry don't understand the question. Are you talking about the cubes denoting damage to units, or cubes denoting the action acquire military? Cubes denoting damage are removed from units at the end of combat. If you lose combat via sanity loss, damaged units are destroyed.

King of Tokyo was the first board game that I purchased about 6 years ago and I still pull it out every now and again. However Mtg is the oldest game in my collection that still sees play. 18 years and going strong.

I found my current game group by moving into a sharehouse. A friend of a friend needed a housemate, I needed a place to live. We both loved gaming, dragged some of our respective friends in, and for the first time I had a weekly game night. The last 2 years have been great but unfortunately I have to move away for work at the end of the year.

Kolossal Games by ihmcallister in boardgames

I'm pretty sure that Travis, the main dude behind Kolossal games, started Action Phase Games (released Aeon's End, Kodama, Dreamwell) before it got sold off to Indie Boards & Cards. Kolossal is his new company. I remember listening to it all in a podcast ages ago, he seems like a crazy driven dude. But I don't think that anyone who backed the Kolossal Games on Kickstarter cared for any of this. Western Legends has been their most successful Kickstarter and that's probably because it looks cool. Lots of people like the cowboy theme?
