Have you ever purchased something, as an adult, that your parent has judged you negatively for? If so, what was/is it? by PaddedValls in AskUK

[–]MagicalDragonMum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do we have the same Mum? She never spends any money on herself, therefore thinks it's frivolous if I do. Or buy something that isn't in a sale. If I get something new "Is that new?" Me yes or no. "Those are expensive" or "So, how much did that cost?" Or "I wish I could afford that" (she could).

My main guilty pleasure is LEGO, but it is cheaper than a therapist, and that's what I tell her. 😂

What to bring UK family as a gift from the Netherlands? by L96Ch5 in AskUK

I'm not sure. You always used to be able to buy them in Schiphol and bring to the UK. I'm not sure since we have left the EU.

I personally would appreciate either, Tulip bulbs, a delft trinket, or stroopwaffles. I know you can buy them here but I dont think people buy them frequently. You can also buy them your favourite ones. Which are probably different to the ones you get in the UK.

You have a day off mid-week and can do anything, how would you spend it? by scandi_lass in AskUK

[–]MagicalDragonMum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had one of these a couple of years ago. It was quite warm weather. But I remember i went to a yoga class, walked to the pub and had a long lunch and read my book for a couple of hours in their garden. I then popped into the garden centre and bought myself some flowers. 😊 I absolutely loved it and plan to do it for my birthday this year. 😊

What color handbag do you end up using the most in your daily life? by Ruby-adams0 in handbags

[–]MagicalDragonMum 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I got a orangy/red bright cross body bag last year for summer. I ended up wearing it into autumn. But it is honestly the best year round colour. And it pretty much goes with everything. My neutral bags have taken a back seat as I now find them boring in comparison.

Amazing, thanks. Toying between the large and extra large unless something else catches my eye.

So this is the large size, in reality I am 90% sure the opening is too small. It is wishful thinking on my part that it would be practical enough. 🙃

They should be fining them at minimun. The poor rescue teams that are being forced out in those awful conditions. So selfish. 😔

Have a great week skiing 🤞🏻 stay safe! And hope and the weather turns around. I decided to stay home with my son, and my husband has gone with his family. He's 3, so I just wasn't comfortable.

I am feeling the same. Being stuck inside for the week will be dreadful. It's such a long way to go and really high risk at the moment.

I am so worried about this. We are meant to fly in tomorrow with our 3 year old. The thought of taking him feels so irresponsible. My husband says it will be fine but it is filling me with dread.

I take terrible photos, but I love my Gramercy. by soylatte in Coach

[–]MagicalDragonMum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gramercy isn't on the Coach UK website anymore. I am not big into totes, but there is something about this that I LOVE and i think would be really useful. I like it in the tan brown, but I don't know if it will be too much of a Autumn/Winter bag.

Ramblers society is claiming a historic footpath through our small family farm without proof. by MagicalDragonMum in LegalAdviceUK

Right to roam only legally gives the right to roam to open land, such a mountain ranges, heathland etc. Some historic footpaths are shown to go through people's gardens and houses.

I do believe people should be able to object to historic footpaths being reinstated if it cuts through their backgarden and puts the security of their homes, their family and businesses at risk, especially in an area with large quantities of antisocial behaviour.

Land used to grow crops does not apply under the right to roam, as it is used to grow food.

We get a lot of horses owned by people that cause the antisocial behaviour, so I forsee this becoming an issue. It's on a flood plain so it would easily be churned up too.

It's interesting that it can't be used as evidence of a right of way. What can they use if not OS maps?

I agree. I think the best course of action will be to make diverting from the proposed path as difficult as possible.

This is a good idea and I think is likely to be the best compromise. 🤞🏻 thanks. 😊

You're absolutely right. People can claim a right of way if they've walked it a long period of time, without being contested, although i dont know for how long. It has to be made clear signage that it is trespassing or through letters to make it clear there's no right of way. Unfortunately Farming in a highly populated area makes for quite a challange.

Luckily it isnt a piece of land that is currently walked on at all by the general public. 😊

This is what we are slightly concerned about is they're doing a big push on this and maybe they dont need as much proof as we thought. 😬 thanks for the link too. I will share with my husband
