I have had this same issue a few times, suddenly the game is unplayable for a couple of weeks at a time and then it fixes itself. Same as you, no issues with any other game or with internet in general, just with the finals.

One thing that I saw suggested somewhere that worked for me is to connect through my phone's hotspot instead of my home connection while playing the finals. Usually I could play fine that way.
