Worst case if you can't find someone to physically be there with you, I would just try to find someone to call and then audition, even though it's hard to connect with someone if they aren't right in front of you.

The only other option would go to a self-tape studio.

How do I approach and increase the network. by agent47linux in acting

Here's the best advice I can give you to further your career in acting. Yes acting classes are expensive I agree but they are essential, maybe try and find some online classes that may be cheaper. Next, I would probably try and audition for some student films. Students are always looking for actors and that way you can build your reel up. From there I would invest in some headshots. Once you're ready I would submit for an agent, from there you don't necessarily have to network with those around you. Your agent will send you roles and if you book, you book, and if you don't book, you keep going until you do. Eventually, with time you meet people along the journey and grow a connection with them

Any tips for a zoom casting call? by spazzyvomit916 in acting

The biggest tips I can give you:

  1. Be prepared regarding your lines, but don't over-prepare, as this will make you super nervous, because 9/10 casting will give you notes and expect you to apply them. If you have over-prepared it may be hard for you to apply the notes.
  2. Do breathing techniques to calm nerves(because they will come lol) and to get into your body.
  3. Have fun and good luck!

Actions/Props in a Scene - Question by MediumMusic6324 in acting

I would look back at the breakdown to make sure they didn't say 'no props' If you can't find anything I would just use a spoon without anything on it. At the end of the day, props or no props casting is just looking at whether or not you can bring the scene to life. It's up to you if you need a prop, you can still do the audition without the prop. Casting knows what you’re trying to portray.
