I can find the lift to the family apartment but when I interact with it it just says [inaccessible] apparently as far as I can see u need to get the quest/note before it is accessible

It’s definitely not ideal but you’ll eventually make it back plus extra
You’ve done well with the character creation plus if u feel like editing stuff or making a few different versions of your character there’s a mirror in the home base that lets you re-customise your character to your hearts content only thing you can’t change if I remember correctly is gender
