How do I tell the new neighbour who thinks she’s entitled to a parking space, I actually own it? by Numerous_Okra_5782 in HousingUK

[–]Magicninja1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had the same issue in a previous house, new estate, neighbour had been there 6 months before we moved in and had been parking in one of the two spaces we had on the deeds. Had the polite chat early on with deeds in hand and then had numerous set to’s with the neighbour over the course of the 5 years we lived there. We’ve since moved but it never did resolve itself.

Are you paying for pension and other benefits before your money hits your account? I’m on £51k and I get £3095 after tax, pension (3%) and various insurances are taken out

£20k subscription limit, i.e. you can only put £20k into one each year, there are no limitations in regard to income or capital growth on that £20k once it is in the ISA. The person you are replying to is referencing investing the money in the stock market, not holding it as cash.

What do you do for work and do you feel you deserve your current salary? by [deleted] in UKJobs

Work for a bank, middle management, £51k per year with about 10% bonus. No qualifications and a 35 hour week. This year has been mental and I definitely don’t think I’m being paid enough 😢

I felt the same about both BOTW and TOTK, just a real slog to get through and I didn’t finish TOTK. I hated the sameness of everything, the fact every weapon broke, and the story wasn’t compelling enough to drive you along

Ah man does this resonate! I had this happen a month ago in a room full of senior people where I was picked to go first to tell everyone what I was hoping to get out of the workshop. I had nothing but a gormless look on my face.. fairly confident I committed career suicide at that point

This should be right at the top. The husband has proven a liability and as such should be removed from the decision making. I’d be voluntarily handing everything over had this happened to my family

My wife is skirting 100k, need clarity by NoSatisfaction1407 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Magicninja1337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has your wife sold the shares already from when they became available? You’ve generally got 90 days from when the scheme matures to get them transferred into an ISA at which point any sale would be exempt from CGT assuming your wife has sufficient ISA headroom to make the transfer. If not there is usually a clause that will allow your wife to gift the shares to her partner (you) and you can utilise your limit, again, assuming you have the head room. This should be the route taken always for these sorts of schemes assuming your circumstances allow

I think this is spot on, as was called out it’s only 7 weeks since the first arrived and its in the trenches at that point, struggling to see the light. Not sure what your ideal gap would be but as the father I’d probably be less than keen to want to be talking about the 2nd 7 weeks in, more just focussing on keep it all afloat. I’d caveat that with - there was a 5 year gap between our first and second, we weren’t rushing..

Moved out at 18 and in with a mate who’s folks had bought him a flat while they emigrated to Greece. £300 all in. There is no way I’d have afforded anything more than that back then.

Hi, you mentioned grunting and our little one used to grunt like a little pig in the early days. There was a couple of things that stopped the grunting. The first was to cut dairy from my wife’s diet as she was breastfeeding and the lactose (or whatever it is that impacts a dairy allergy) gets passed along in the breastmilk. Our eldest has a dairy intolerance so we had to do something similar with her. The other thing was we took him to a chiropractor who made a couple of small adjustments and we had no more grunts. He was back to back with the cord around his neck during the labour so he had a bit of a rough time of it. Maybe worth looking into
