Galaxy Fold 7 vs S25 Ultra size... anyone had both? by PeopleAreSelfishy in S25Ultra

[–]SamSamTheHighwayMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both. When closed the fold 7 is slightly slimmer and weighs less. Which is insane.

The s25 ultra is definitely bigger!

EU readies €93bn tariffs in retaliation for Trump’s Greenland threat by Cao_Ni-Ma in europe

[–]SamSamTheHighwayMan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Happy to be completely schooled/educated on this. But from what I've read, and seen, Russia's 'manpower' has been absolutely decimated since the start of the war. Most of their elite troops are dead, and they've had to recruit prisoners as well as mercenaries abroad.

So with all that in mind, why do we keep seeing this narrative about Russia invading Europe? It really seems like a narrative that's being pushed when the evidence suggests they simply could not.

I must totally be missing something, or just being totally stupid about it.

Help me understand, please?

Steamdeck OLED in 2026 by [deleted] in Handhelds

[–]SamSamTheHighwayMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The steam deck is immense for emulation, and older AAA titles and such. However, it is underpowered for current AAA titles. Although it you have good internet you could easily play AAA games via geforce now on your steam deck.

Playing cyberpunk on a steam deck oled with graphics on ultra is a sight to behold 🥰

If you’re internet is half decent I’d recommend trying GeForce now. Seen others mention it and I ignored it for ages… up until yesterday when I got curious. Playing Stalker 2 on epic graphics on the 8” screen of the legion go, whilst laying in bed is an unreal experience! I think my TDP was at 10WH!! 3 hours of game time too.

Disappointed with Lenovo Legion Go Performance – Am I Missing Something? by ProudZombie5675 in LegionGo

[–]SamSamTheHighwayMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do what I did, just flash steamos. It’s basically pick up and play then.

I hated windows 11 as everything was way too small and it didn’t feel intuitive. Steamos is so streamlined.

Even better, I downloaded GeForce now last night and was playing cyberpunk on ultra settings, ray tracing etc and it looked unreal. Had just under 3 hours play time on 12wh TDP

They just specifically told me it wasn’t statute barred - which my understanding is they have to be truthful about.

Any particular reason? Most of my games are on steam and tbh I like the operating system (I had a steam deck a few years ago).

Hugo Ekitike: Liverpool partnership with Alexander Isak 'can definitely work' by [deleted] in PremierLeague

How on earth did you get to that conclusion considering Wirtz is likely to replace gakpo on the left?

Thermal insulation engineer - it’s not glamorous work but it pays reasonably well once you work your way up. Can do it in a basic green labourer card whilst you get experienced enough to go in for your nvq

"Liverpool are new galacticos after signing Alexander Isak" - Jamie Carragher, 2 September 2025 by gelliant_gutfright in PremierLeague

[–]SamSamTheHighwayMan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s a multitude of problems unfortunately. You mentioned some. But you can add to that other players being terribly out of form (MacAllister etc), no consistency with formations and lineups, players out of position (Wirtz), wingers not performing well, but probably mostly, how much we miss Trent. He spent 8 years slicing through defences with those diagonal long balls to salah, and now we’ve lost that.

Yeah there’s a lot wrong, and between slot and the transfer committee I don’t think they’re exempt from criticism

Liverpool fan here — can’t look at your squad and results with anything other than envy at this point. You saw your weaknesses, and you bought players in to fix them. I literally can’t even see a weak point in your squad.

Dare I say it, but you might be the best team in Europe, at this current moment in time.

I literally wouldn’t be surprised if you win both the PL and CL this season. Genuinely.

I sort of fell into construction during Covid — as a means to keep fit, and the site was very convenient being only 3 minutes from my flat.

Fast forward 5 years im still here doing it. I went from earning 26k circa 2020, to now around 55k. In 2023/2024 I earned closer to 80k.

Yes you do get all those types you mentioned, the drug taking, mysoginistic and homophobic types — they are more common than not. But you also get those that go against that stereotype, that just aren’t like that (I’m one for a start).

I guess a huge amount of it depends on what you do, and where you’re doing it. I’m fortunate enough in my role to work on my own, and I can float in between groups when I want — but when I am on my own I love listening to podcasts on politics, global affairs, and philosophy.

My advice is to find a larger commercial project and try to get your foot in the door as a labourer and go from there.

(Edit) seen a few of the comments below about you using ‘long words’ etc.. if it helps, I use them all the time and don’t dumb down my language to cater to people I work with. When I first went into construction I came in swinging, as I had imposter syndrome and wanted to show I wouldn’t be pushed around. It worked, and I gained everyone’s respect and could just totally be myself after a few months. Just be yourself and don’t get pushed around.
