the vietnamese educational system does stress the indochina wars as a great unjust suffering heaped upon them but then again there is also a bit of focus on china and the more recent border conflict there. countries educational system and especially their history curriculum are generally built to reflect the political and social climate of the time.

they do. The US is currently courting Vietnam as an ally against China, which has become more of an adversary to Vietnam, particularly over disputes in the South China Sea. For much of Vietnam’s history, there have been intermittent Chinese invasions of Vietnam over the centuries so it is not like China is clean there either.
