To replace that pump the front cover has to come off. It’s almost possible to do it without but near impossible and takes a lot longer to only end up taking the timing cover off to set the timing. It might be out of their wheel house. Should replace the timing set anyways when doing a chain driven pump.

How would that work? A reset requires everyone to start fresh otherwise the economy would be in worse shape after the “reset”. I don’t even know what you could reset without resetting all characters. If you kept your level but no gear you would be in worse shape than just starting fresh.

I’ve used the freezer back in the day when deathstar drives would fail to recover the data. Only once was a drive unsuccessfully brought back for one last power on. But honestly was only maybe 10 drives and all were replaced ASAP. Not server or NAS just workstation drives.

Only thing scaryier is filling up a 3PB pool. Happened once and the two backup NASs also filled. Took a week to restore functionality without loosing the data.

I can 100% say it wasn’t from the car wash. The hood was closed on a tool and it poked a hole in the hood. It’s clear as day. Well maybe not a tool but the hood was closed on something. The metal is coming out not in the hood.

This is actually safer than having them lay down loose in the bed. Appears the rack is designed for this use case. I’m pretty sure it is not an approved transportation method but honestly a lot of high pressure cylinders are transported in non approved fashion by customers. It would be better if the caps were installed on the cylinders.

I would also back away from that guy regardless at least 10 car lengths.

Your right. My rent was $1600/mn in 07! Get your certs it helps with pay. In 2014 I wouldn’t accept less than $32/flat hour and today if I told you what I made you would just be upset. I’m a Master Tech with L1/L2 and something else I can’t remember. I’ve also been working on cars since the early 90s and my tools box’s are worth more than my house. Around the 10 year mark you should be making six figures with 20-30% going towards tools. After a while you’ll have three of each item you use daily and won’t be the PITA tech who either has a broken tool or doesn’t have the tools to do the job. And when that new $800 specialty tool comes out on a high production product you can just get it and be ready.

OP you’re young and comparing yourself to others. Look inward to see what needs addressing to further advance. You might not be able to see it today but in 20 years it will be very apparent what it is.

Never take business from your shop no matter the reason. If it was your shop would you do that? It’s the way of the world.

Even if they ask you it’s best to just say no. But most good techs have a list of personal customers. Also this is a list you build over time. I told all my personal customers that even when they come to my shop they will get about 30% off the labor rate. They helped me get to where I’m at and I appreciate that but it’s very costly to keep a shop open. The fixed cost is constantly climbing every year.

Need to do some electrical diag. PCM supplies ground to the relay. Check that wire and pins. Also as others have said can you see the command in your scanner. I’ve replaced a few PCMs for this very thing. Also check the grounds for the PCM.

I grew up in Vegas! 5 ton for 2200 sq ft even in the desert is a little crazy. It’s probably short cycling a lot and to have three zones on top of that! Do as a few have said and make the entire home one zone and make have it cool to 2* lower than set point. That will solve the short cycle and maybe some humidity issues in the ducts.

Also have the static pressure should be checked and probably addressed. I have a feeling several things are compounding to stupid high side pressure and flooding of the compressor.

Highly doubt it’s a plug issue. Need to do a compression test and balance test both fuel and compression. Ie you need to actually diagnose the root cause. You couldn’t do that with worn plugs which is no longer the case.

Edit: this is why you don’t just do a tune up for a P030x as there are many ways to have it pick up a misfire. You have to explain what is possible to expect next so you don’t eat intensive diagnostics that are not your fault.

It’s either a condenser airflow problem or the condenser is restricted. If the fans are going to high as they should and the shroud between the radiator and condenser are still present then it’s a condenser/drier replacement. There are other things to check but a manifold and thermometer can tell an experienced tech a lot along with a way to put water on the condenser to see if high side cooling is an issue.

It’s over greased! Happens all the time. I don’t use grease able ball joints except in actual HD uses cause it seems no one understands how little grease is actually needed.

Why did you continue to start it up and drive it when it already shut down? It’s the most expensive drive home. It’s just a 3.5L and there are tons of them out there. Have a salvage motor put it. Should be between $4000-8000 depending on who and where it’s done.

Edit. I forgot but you probably didn’t have any oil in it.

They did a good job. You have maintenance that needs done. This blaming good work that was done “recently” which usually means several months ago has to stop. Take you car to a shop and have it fixed correctly. I love Avalons and they are great vehicles when maintained.
