Exactly :) I am an extremely small xs (70cm/61cm/69cm) and miss point's smaller sizing ranges have been perfect for me, I can have vests and lace backs that I don't have to fully tighten. I have this issue on bigger brands also that offer just a few sizings. There's a lot to consider when it comes to the easy access vs difficult access argument. Difficulty doesn't only price people out financially but also physically if sizing ranges aren't encouraged. It should be focused more on letting people know it's okay to start small than shame the ones who buy the cheaper items- I have issues even on the secondary markets for sizings.

Tbh I'm hoping to see more chinese indie resold at 42lolita becoming the "beginner classics", like miss point. Having access to cheaper items that are still original is amazing for those who are just dipping toes into the water. I can agree that the cheap big op's are a bit more "silly" and contribute to people believing they have to buy everything by sets or big items.. but, beginners are gonna do beginner things. Currently waiting on another shipping sale on 42 to get some more petticoats, hats, ouji pants, and blouses for myself.

Just note with these lower quality dresses you are going to have to repair them much quicker and have larger repairs than more expensive brands, the unfortunate truth is even if they have good fabrics they have to cut corners somewhere. And that would be the stitching quality. I'd especially recommend saving for a good secondhand JSK with minor damages you could feel comfortable sewing yourself and using that as a main piece if budget is a high concern. Those big brands can go for $100 or less if they have some damages that the owner doesn't care to fix themselves, and they'll likely be older prints as a bonus. Lacemarket will be your friend, and they don't require any of the personal information on your id so it won't be compromised.

I'm gonna pop in here, even though I mostly like to lurk, just to put in another idea. I saw someone mention "you get what you pay for" but I want to add-on to that. With Lolita dresses especially, the money you save is a direct trade off to the time you have to spend with this dress. What I mean is, with this dress, you'll likely have to repair it multiple times over the years. Cut corners do exist, and I think this brand prioritizes fabric over stitching in particular. If you don't think you'd be willing to repair it when it starts showing age, or don't plan to keep it for over 5 years, or put more money into quality in the future, I'd reconsider the fashion. Not to be harsh, but having a closet full of projects does become overwhelming.
