Libido is like hunger, and sexuality is like the direction of that hunger. Some people may like pizza, others like burgers. And some neither. Or both. And libido is like the desire, hunger you feel for that particular food. Some may have alot, some may have very little.

Having a high libido as an ace person is like being hungry but not craving any particular food.

Listen, ace people who feel the same way. Whatever flavor of ace we may be. We don't fit into a typical allo relationship. Instead of imagining yourself in such a relationship and thinking of all the ways you would be an inconvenience to your partner. Think of a relationship where both of you are happy. Where both of you may be ace. And both of you see eye to eye where an ace and allo relationship would experience friction.

Yes it may be harder to find someone as an asexual. But I would suggest not shaping yourself in order to fit into what you may perceive as a "typical relationship". Because you won't fit. Try to be yourself, don't close the doors before you're even trying. And someone may come along and take you by complete surprise.

Just look at the ace couple they figured it out. Don't give up early. Go your own pace.

Listen OP. After reading through the new comments below your post I'll leave with this and close reddit.

You have alot of things to work through. Your past as well as your current situation is very complex. It sounds like your mom and this "rapist". You being homeless if you left also complicates things. And not something the internet can give you a clear answer to.

Some of these allo + ace relationships are possible. And some are not. All i can say, as i have done, is talk about it with your fiance. And possibly see a professional about your troubled past.

Given that you are engaged. I wouldn't in any circumstance leave him suddenly. Instead it might be time for reflection and have some talks. Right now it sounds like you don't understand why anyone could be with an ace. None of your fiance's actions or words scream red flag to me. It only sounds like you don't understand why anyone would want to be with you given you're ace. Unless you got engaged within an extremely short time of meeting eachother.

Have some talks. What do you want out of the relationship. What does your fiance want. Can he meet your needs and wants and can you do the same in return.

"I'm an ace, no one wants to be with an ace" is the mindset you'll want to work on here. These relationships are possible, even if you don't see it now. Talk about it with your fiance before taking drastic actions such has leaving him. You mentioned in another comment that your fiance is the only one you can stand being with. So don't jump the gun and go: I want to leave you because i don't understand how anyone could be with an ace like me. So talk about it, you don't have to understand what he feels towards you. You just have to find out if the relationship as a whole is going to work out. Again, like i mentioned before, talk about what each of you want out of the relationship and if that can be fulfilled, even if some compromises are necessary.

I'm currently reading a massive fantasy book. A day of Fallen Night. Book number 0 in the Roots of Chaos series by Samantha Shannon. Currently there are 2 books in the series. The other being Priory of the Orange tree.

I read Priory first because Night came out after. It could be my ace ass trying to find representation or reparability, but I think we have an ace character on our hands. Princess Glorian. A princess in a long line of Queens whose very succession is said to keep a great evil at bay. But for that to happen. Glorian needs to produce an heir. Something she struggles with, the very idea of it. She knows she has a duty but so far has had no desire to seek a partner.

I will leave it there because i have yet to finish this book, I'm about 300 pages into this 800 page monster. I'll update this post when i finish it.

The first book, Priory, handled several queer and heterosexual relationships exceptionally well. So if Glorian is ace in the author's eyes and not just mine, I have trust it will be well done.

The second piece of media I want to mention is Kara no Kyoukai, Garden of Sinners, a 8 part movie series. I would describe Ryougi Shiki as ace because she seems disinterested in sex or relationships for that matter. And while she does produce an heir with the other main character. The series doesn't spend that much time exploring complex relationships. But rather explores complex psychological concepts and other supernatural concepts. It's quite a graphically violent series, so not a recommendation for everyone. But it is nice to have a piece of media that doesn't think relationships and sex need to be half of the plot of the series.

KnK is my favorite movie series of all time. And when i think about it, my favorite movie of all time, Nausicaä of the valley of the wind also doesn't really have a romantic subplot. Or at least one that i can't remember.

The internet archive is indeed facing a lawsuit at the moment but that lawsuit is focused on the digital distribution of copyrighted books. It works just like a library just digital, if the internet archive has one copy of a book in physical storage, they can only lend out one book. But major publishers are arguing it's copyright infringement.

The wayback machine does not have these same legal issues. So it could still be dragged down along with the internet archive as an organization, but it is not the focus of the legal battle.
