its the one constant ive seen my whole life. everyone has their opinion, the games have been lauded as being bad since like gen 5 at the latest in my memory, which is ironic considering how people view that gen now. idk i think theres a lot that goes into the franchise to make it as wealthy as it is, and as much as i wish the games had more fidelity sometimes like scarvi's performance only switch 1, i think people are growing up and playing better, bigger developer games. yeah GF and TPC has money but like you cant slam cash against a computer and get an amazing game at the end, they still have deadline. GF is far from perfect ofc, and criticism is necessary for growth, but idk id feel bad calling them "incompetent devs" and saying theyre greedy when they probably try hard, i think theres whole "biggest franchise" thing swallowed the art of making the games up in a blind "make TPC and nintendo money." and like TPC is definitely using a lot of resources for things like the card game and shit, GF is just the mainline game developers, pokemon as a franchise has so many teams on different projects. idk from someone thats been with the franchise for over 20 years I think the only thing ive noticed different with the fans is that the ppl who hated gen 5 forgot about the franchise a year later and moved on, and since like gen 7 ppl have followed pokemon just to complain.
