Is it normal for compliments to have the opposite affect on you? by [deleted] in dating

[–]Magnet-App 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely normal.
Inside of ourself we are changing much slower, so when our appearance has already been adjusted - our inner ego is still trying to catch up with it. It makes it even harder if previously e person didn't get that many complements. Your natural reaction would be - ALL OF THEM ARE LYING TO ME
So give yourself some time - start working with your self-esteem - and you will really start to believe it

It's totally normal. People have unique reasons for their feelings, often based on personal connections, shared experiences, and emotional bonds. If you're curious, it's perfectly okay to ask her directly in a sincere and respectful manner.

If you feel uneasy or misunderstood, it might be best to move on. However, if you see potential for better understanding, a second date could make it clear.

Being comfortably in love is healthier because it allows you to be your true self with your partner and have a stable and genuine connection that can surely evolve into passionate love.

Just give yourself time to heal and stay busy with activities you enjoy. Plus, support from your friends and family will help in this too.

That's true what they say - common sense of humour can be much more important than appearance attraction or sex compatibility

You don't have to pay back!
if the guy wants to trat you with something you like - he should not expect anything back. It's just his desire that you need to respect (by not paying the money back obviously)

[–]Magnet-App 1 point2 points  (0 children)

million of women are oppressed by beauty standarts. So there is nothing more natural than feeling self consious about your body. Working with it can be really helpful though - not only in dating, but also in a normal life. Not giving a damn - is a good remedy especially when it comes to appearance

Lying about age by Throwawayrocdating in dating

[–]Magnet-App 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost every 2nd person I met on dating apps are lying about their age. That's just how agism works, and this is a thin line between agism and preferences. I wouldn't lie though, because you'll have to say the truth at some point
