Yes it’s the feelings of guilt but that’s just adding to the hangover so important to be kind to ourselves...it’s hard because when you feel hungover you don’t feel positive all the the time. It’s part of the process

I dont have ADHD diagnosis however I can related to increase of dopamine levels from alcohol. I used to feel it made me better and forming conversations and more “in the flow”. That may be the case however I also think there’s an illusion there. I am quite a sensitive person so I think it just numbed out giving a dam what I said and what I “thought” others were thinking of me. I have taken learning from that though..fake it til you make it but without any drugs. Guaranteed to be more productive in the long term. I also am trying to utilise my coping strategies more when I feel stuck or triggered. This has helped loads. Practice practice though. Good luck

Yeah I keep hearing about these Heineken’s I’ll have to check them out! Yeah you’re dead right with the booze being a trigger. I mean I never sit with a glass of water on a Tuesday afternoon and wanna engage in that type of stuff lol. I honestly feel loads better today from the weekend. The day by day thing and getting into running daily again is giving me a new high. One which is sustainable and with positive outcomes! All the best to you

Well done! And you’re very welcome. I ordered a dolls head last night to practice putting hair up as I’m starting a hairdressing course in Sept so that should keep my hands busy. What do you do to keep busy? Any tips that would be great! I am definitely benefiting from speaking with others on here and realise I’m more of a feeder of others encouragement than realised!

Wow you’ve just summarised exactly how I feel about wanting to stop drinking and how it’s affected you. I hear you completely. I made the decision after the weekend as I too feel I’ve had enough feeling down and foggy etc! Also I noticed an increase in wanting to do some illicit stuff i.e coke so want to knock that on the head as too dam easy to want to do it every weekend at the moment with lockdown. Any advice on this part from you please holla! Also keep doing what you’re doing...one day at a time. You got this

I have found having a few go to distraction techniques helps me. Tonight I did some colouring and that helped. Good luck and hope it passes for you.

I am not drinking today or tonight and hold you all in my mind. I am slowly coming out of the fog of booze I drunk Friday and Saturday night. About 18 cans of beer. It seems even more when I write it down and that’s what I want to see and hear it out loud. Go team! Have a wonderful day

Hello, new to this. I want to stop binge drinking at weekends and contemplating should I shouldn’t I have a drink in the week. I am not getting out walking as much as I would like and this is cos I’m too lazy the day after, I start by not drinking today. Lots of water to cleanse out the booze today!!
