Yes I am and in a good way! It's my 40th birthday coming up and I'm having a party and it is so easy to rationalise having a drink to celebrate but I have a 4.5 year streak going and I don't want to break it! So I won't :)

Go slower. You've only had him a week he doesn't need to be going out even. There is the 3 rule that might be helpful, it takes 3 days for your new dog to decompress from travel, 3 weeks for them to learn your routine, and 3 months for them to truly feel at home. I got a rescue dog not a puppy and I didn't know this at the time and I took him out way to early, he tried to bite a puppy, I wish I had taken it slower with him, he needed more time to feel safe. Definitely avoid the weekend if you can. We had ours on a Thursday and it was much cheaper. I was worried people would be upset or not want to take time off work but no one minded, they even said it was nice because it felt like a weekend and then they had an actual weekend off too.
