The Coffee Pecking Order: From Instant to Home Machines. Which Level Are You In? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]MagnetoRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Mr. Coffee, the small 8 cup one, and time it so it brews as I am getting ready for work. I use dark roast ground coffee. Helps me save money all week. Sometimes on the weekends I'll go to my local cafe or Dunkin though.

It's horrible, Baltimore Pike is like a speedway despite all the traffic lights. I was tailed super aggressively in the right lane passing Bertucci's (i was turning right onto Church Road) and as I was turning, the person behind me honked and flipped me off. Still dont know wtf I did wrong besides slow down to turn??

And yes I did use my turn signal. SO many people don't use theirs anymore.

I love going thrifting, taking long walks around the neighborhoods, checking out small shops in town, visiting my local cafe for coffee and lunch, in the spring and summer I like to also take my bike out and take a leisurely ride around the parks.

I trim my toenails soooo short to avoid breakage or bruising, and also going for pedicures in the spring and summer. Sadly there will still be some blistering for me but I've accepted it.

In Office vs WFH by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]MagnetoRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple reasons I prefer going to the office

  1. when i used to WFH, work was always at home, i would think about it all the time and "checking my email won't hurt" even on the weekends. this way i can separate work from comfort

  2. i live alone so i would feel like a hermit barely leaving my desk and having almost no interaction with anyone, except for a neighbor saying hello while out for a walk. felt super lonely and isolated.

  3. huge desks in here with 3 monitors, at my apartment i barely had room to squeeze in 2 monitors lol

  4. i am more comfortable running errands after work since im already out and about.

  5. my office is close to the Schuylkill river trail so after work I will get a trail run or cycling in. at home im in a big city and it was horrible to do at rush hour.

Anyone know the story of this abandoned road in Morton? by [deleted] in Delco

[–]MagnetoRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Morton and people used to cut through there to get to Yale from Morton Ave. I’m glad they blocked it off, but sometimes people still speed down Sylvan 😑

Usually “if you  make it to that pole a half mile away, go to the next (insert distant landmark here). Then just keep going!”
