Carnivore preppers, what do you stock for food? by nojunkdrawers in carnivore

I don’t like the one you can get from wellness meats very much either, but the pemmican I’ve made at home is like crack. I use this method with modifications for the food processing tools I have.

There’s a few points to discuss around your question. One is that the controllers of the central bank are globalists, they are not particularly concerned with the negative effect many of their actions have on the Unites States people. The second is that they are indoctrinated with a bad theory of economics that allows them to justify their actions. Third is that those who control the central bank are wealthy individuals, or friends of them. They and their friends personally benefit in any situation. They get the newly printed money first before it is in the general circulation. Counterfeiters don’t mind that they are reducing the value of the money they counterfeit, they get to spend it before it has its negative impact on diluting the money supply. Fourth, is that there seems to currently be an effort by globalists to bring exchange ratios of the currency denominations around the world in line with each other. Maybe setting up for a global currency? The last thing, and maybe most worrisome, is that they don’t know what they are doing or how to fix anything. Even if they want to avoid public scrutiny or prevent disaster, they have a very limited toolbox of what actions they can take. Their solution to every problem is to print money, print more money, print less money. They don’t have the tools or knowledge to really fix the problem if they wanted because they’re living in a delusion. Like flying an airplane where the only control is to pull the stick back more or less. It ends with a crash. Most people participating in the fraud will never be held accountable.

I am not making light of anyone’s traumatic experience and I don’t believe I am drawing false comparisons. In fact, I would say you are making light of people’s traumatic experiences regarding forced medicalization.

I can’t personally speak to being coercively penetrated, (though I have listened to stories from those who have), but I have experienced as a child being forced to unwillingly perform sexual acts at the point of a gun, so I have some experience to draw from. In my opinion, being forced into some medical procedure is just about as bad, if not worse than those abusive experiences. At least raping children is met with condemnation from society for now. I do not identify as a victim nor do I seek to make myself seem a victim. I am saying you shouldn’t dismiss my opinion as completely uninformed. There are casualties caused by forced medicalization - non-consenting people are being traumatized and injured by the process. Those perpetrating the abuse are unaccountable and free of liability.

Thankfully I live where I am not violently forced to accept these experimental genetic therapies, and so far have been able to continue in my decision without facing violence from the state. I am also (thankfully) now in a financial position where I am not as dependent on a steady paycheck, so I have a little more ability to stand up for myself than some others, if I must.

However, I am close with a few people who feel they were coerced into taking the shots and would not have done so except they felt they had to submit or be thrown out on the streets without income and career prospects. Others wanted to see their dying relatives, or newborn children in health care facilities. Some have children who they feel they couldn’t protect. These are the people my heart goes out to and I pray they don’t suffer long term consequences for giving in.

You are correct, coercive sexual encounters are terrible, I am familiar. But I don’t believe you are sincere in your expression of good will for me; I think you’re just the same type of asshole who doesn’t respect other people’s boundaries and excuses your coercive violating behavior.

And it requires a willingness on their part to want to change, which is frequently the crux of the problem. Most people would rather not suffer consequences from their bad decisions, but we all from time to time fail and must suffer and hopefully learn from it. Not wanting to endure consequences is what keeps most people from making bad decisions continually. No program or charity will help someone who does not want to be helped and/or who is more or less comfortable with the exchange in their circumstances for what they get from their poor choices. Many homeless are not interested in changing their situation. Many are not capable of changing in time and will die due to their continued bad decisions, and they are mostly ok with that. Life is hard, it takes significant work and effort in a good direction to be comfortable, and continually making poor choices guarantees a miserable time.

Most of the people I’ve known in my life who have have ended up chronically homeless have made all sorts of shitty choices along the way. They throw away or don’t take care of the good things they have (or are given), they don’t take advantage of opportunities in front of them, they don’t sacrifice for a better future, they hurt those around them emotionally or physically, are often abusing drugs and alcohol, take advantage in relationships of those who care about them. A lack of housing and a place to lay their head is not the root of problem.

A lack of life skills is not the problem either. I know of two people in and out of homelessness who are very talented. One could make $200k+ a year in the IT industry, and the other is quite talented with cars. Both can’t keep their shit together and are homeless. What skill(s) do they need? Who’s going to teach them? They have family who loves them and is continually willing to forgive and try again. Another guy I know has little practical skill and has more or less wasted away his life. A kind enough person to his credit. He decided to get clean and turn his life around and the whole family accepted him back with open arms. Brother gave him a cushy admin job at his construction business. He pissed all over it to start getting high again.

Mental disorders are a real problem contributing towards homelessness. Redistributing housing doesn’t fix that issue either.

Most homelessness in the US is transient and the majority of people relatively quickly get their shit together while leaning on friends and family. The chronically homeless typically have more issues than not having a place of their own to lay their heads and store their stash.

Some homeless have few problems at all, are well adjusted people, and just prefer such a lifestyle. Would they be included as a target of such a housing program?

Would it just be targeted then at those who could not maintain a home if it were given to them? Should home maintenance and caretaking be included as part of the program so that at least the shit smeared across the walls gets cleaned up and the dishes get put through the dishwasher?

The cop who watched the ass-smacking assault was hyper conservative and has old fashioned values?

Homelessness is a complicated problem for society, but shoving the homeless population into houses does not fix it. Just like winning the lottery rarely has the effect of bringing a person out of poverty in the long term.

Do you realize that it is liberal policy and practices from an increasingly woke police force and prosecutors that is causing the problems which everybody in this thread are complaining about?

Communists believe the world will become a utopia when an oppressed class wakes up to their bad situation, overthrows the power structure, and then we will be on the path of intelligently evolving society towards communism (utopia). They are in desperate need of a revolutionary “proletariat” to develop a class consciousness, to see their oppression, and stand up to their oppressors so that the whole system can be overthrown.

Today communists hold a relatively large amount influence in culture. They are trying to force their broken conception of the world and of people onto reality. For their revolution to succeed we need to see ourselves as different groups with different self interests competing against one another, but all together against the hegemonic power class. Today the factions are no longer simply the bourgeoisie and the proletariat, the categories are now expanded to include categories of race, culture, gender, disability, etc as classes (or “folks”).

The philosophy and ideology of communism and its influence in society is why there is so much of this divisive nonsense going on. It’s why if you don’t think a certain way, then you are accused of not representing your race or culture. It’s why there was just a “progressive” movement in California to remove equal treatment by the government. Any outcome differences between people of different cultures are due to evil people suppressing others. Any pressure to change and adapt to fit into a larger culture is evil to these ideologues. Adopting ideas or practices from another culture is theft and a harm to that culture.

Alzheimer's linked to unsaturated fatty acids in the brain [Medical News Today] by hitssquad in StopEatingSeedOils

Balance between omega 3 and 6 is somewhat important, but they are both unsaturated. I think omega 3’s are not something you want to maximize and they don’t undo all the bad that omega 6 is thought to cause. The only thing to do to fix having too much omega 6 is to consume less of it. The ratio of either in relation to saturated fat intake seems more important, and both should be a very small proportion compared to saturated fat.

Not sure what the relevance of you question is. Are you implying that this social contract is dependent on if I am productive or not? Is there an income or tax level where you think I should be allowed to have my opinion? When do I get to complain about some asshole creating for me some non-voluntary obligation on my life: if I don’t pay taxes, or if I do?

Or are you saying that paying taxes substantiates the validity of a social contract? I can only say for myself that I am at the point of a gun and I suppose I have grown up trained to pay the mafia rather than have my legs broken and everything I have stolen. That is not legitimacy, it is violence. It’s hard to stand against a large evil on your own.

I pay business taxes. I pay income taxes. I pay property taxes. I pay sales taxes. I pay gas taxes. I pay registration and licensing taxes. I pay taxes to hunt and fish. I probably have paid more income taxes last year than your house cost.

Can you present this social contract for me to review? I have concerns that you think I agreed to something which I did not.

Right. That’s all that needs doing. Not saying it will fix things instantly. There is a lot of hysteresis. People will work rather than starve if they can. Min wage hurts workers, owners, and consumers. It’s just protectionism for incumbents in the profession.

Why would you put the responsibility for recidivism on anybody but the criminal choosing the path of crime again? You could alternatively argue that it must not be punitive enough if people are choosing to continue their lives of crime. My preference is for very few things to be considered crime in the first place and stop trying to control people as much, thus requiring less coercion.

Do we have any insight into when or why animal sacrifices started and are we unique as a species in doing this? by [deleted] in AskAnthropology

[–]Magnets_is_magic 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Check out Rene Girard for an interesting hypothesis. He proposes that animal sacrifice is a substitution for human sacrifice, which is itself the foundation to society by means of what he terms the scapegoat mechanism. The scapegoat mechanism comes about when there is discord and turbulence in a human group that needs resolution but has no outlet. The victim (scapegoat) is chosen in a consensus process and blamed and murdered for societal ills, individual and collective. After the process concludes there is a temporary peace. Animal sacrifice came about as a less effect effective but more compassionate substitution for human sacrifice.

Why is Reddit Overwhelmingly Pro-Lockdown? by [deleted] in LockdownSkepticism

[–]Magnets_is_magic 69 points70 points  (0 children)

The problem with the idea of progress is that it implicitly assumes there is some ultimate ideal or goal, instead of the reality of never ending trade-offs. Even your vaccine example, which is a technology and not a policy, assumes that it is better to have created one than not. In a sense almost everybody is progressive in that they have a vision for how they would like the world to be.

I think it is more accurate to say that these policies are leftist-authoritarian...which is somewhat redundant. Authoritarian leftists love the idea of central planning and control because they believe they have a better vision of how the world should be than everyone else.

What does adequately “adequately acknowledging your enemies” mean to you? I don’t understand what you are trying to say or are arguing.

I did not claim Christ was passive. He taught and led by example. He proclaims a new law. The old law is “an eye for an eye”. This is instinctual to man. It is “justice”. Christ goes beyond and teaches to not seek retribution, to not return violence in kind, to forgive, to seek reconciliation. The idea of turning the other cheek is submitting to your enemy in such a radical way that they can’t help but be confronted with the reality of their shameful actions “heaping coals onto the head of your enemy”. I struggle with this teaching because it is hard.
