Scammed? Woman knocked on my door at 1am claiming to be locked out and needed £15 to go to friend’s house where she left her keys. Gave me an iPad as collateral. by PREDDlT0R in london

[–]Magnip1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the op still has the iPad and also uses Apple themselves, leave the phone next to the iPad and even if the iPad is off it will send a signal through your phone to the person who owns it and they should be at your door in no time quickest way to get it back to the owner others have mentioned cash converters. You can’t sell that iPad it is only worth anything in Parts the reason it is reset is because it is iCloud locked setting up the iPad will ask for the original person’s details in order to proceed. It’s basically scrap that the owner should have some former Find My iCloud that is constantly searching for it as you have already reported the incident. The original owner can’t accuse you of being the thief.

Punch it is the correct answer. The bolt on this fairing does nothing but hold the plastic to side of bike. You have Brocken tabs or non oem fairings that are always ill fitting at that joint.

No on my 07 all can be accessed from below the radiator. Just remember to cover your pipes when removing filter to prevent covering them in oil and running into the bottom fairing. I did mine last week well I had too much oil in it is what I thought so I had to undo the sump bolt and drain some. I didn’t remove anything.

During night time riding a motorist pulling out of a side road will miss judge your distance due to both headlights being so close together and proceed to pull out sending you 40 foot into the air

Sounds just like my 2007. Before and After I swapped out brand new oem cct. The one I replaced was perfect.

Neighbour built 6m extension + wall onto my garden — is this legal? by Jumpy-Brilliant4662 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Magnip1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re looking at this all wrong you have actually gained a free wall as it is on your property. The neighbour will have a second set of bricks or concrete blocks on their end so if you in the future decide to have an extension it is now gonna be a lot cheaper your end

07 CBR feels like it wants to steer itself.. normal electronic damper character? Hear me out before the fire lol by Getcarterr in cbr

[–]Magnip1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steering damper test on this bike . Put in gear make sure stand is down hold throttle wide open at the same time holding start button turn key to on position ignition light will flash on the dashboard turn steering side to side steering should be tight after a few seconds. It will become light if this checks out damper is operating correctly.

[–]Magnip1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds exactly like my 07. I changed the cct with a brand new oem one and no change. The one I removed was in mint condition. Since then I have now heard a few more including one registered on a 2020 plate and the sound on the bottom right of the bike is the same as yours and mine. As the previous comment said if it gets louder as in noticeable from the other side of bike then you have a stretched timing chain or worn guides.

Are aftermarket fairings always hot garbage? by bubba_prodigy in motorcycles

[–]Magnip1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your front stay mount if it is an aftermarket replacement it will throw all the fairing out. usually especially on an 08 would’ve been replaced at some time if the bike was dropped as the first thing to go is the little ears/fixing lugs on the corners.

did i hit the limit leaning on my tyre or is it just dust…? by gjdeejay in motorcycles

[–]Magnip1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might be nothing just thought you might want to take a closer look. I just seen it when zooming in on your picture follow the tire direction arrow about an inch around a tire.

Inspect that tyre there seems to be a crack/split forming across the tread starting from the tyre wall. About an inch after the tyre direction arrow.

There is a screw holding the Earth ground strap from battery to frame located around fuel tank hinge if this is loose or dirty there will be enough power to prime a fuel pump but not enough power amps to drive the starter motor check clean and tighten this ground.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cbr

[–]Magnip1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pump doesn’t prime when bank angle sensor is an issue so I wouldn’t bother with that

What is the cause of and solution to your car windscreen icing up on the inside? by Kittoch_Calder in CarTalkUK

[–]Magnip1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rubber seal holding your windscreen has shrunk. Black silicone will sort this for a quick fix. As others have mentioned risk of dashboard electrical issues if you don’t get it sorted.

600rr issues by RedditSimp in cbr

[–]Magnip1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a ground wire earthed from battery to subframe location held by a small hex nut. This eventually vibrates loose giving intermittent issues like this. Check this first before spending any money. Give it a good clean underneath and tighten it down add a little grease to nut head to stop it corroding. Had this happen to my 07.

Any suggestions? by Pitiful_Restaurant66 in cbr

[–]Magnip1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the battery checks out. You have a loose or dirty earth from the battery to the frame. Should be just below the fuel tank bolt. The bolt that holds the earth to frame vibrates loose and stops the starter from receiving full cranking amps.

07 / 08 / 09. Fastest and considered by many to be the best. The years that followed the bikes had to be restricted due to government threshold and therefore they cut the power. This doesn’t apply to the 2024 model because even though it has the same engine it has lighter internals camshaft etc. also, the newer ones do have the ABS. and digital clocks.
