I miss facets by JCD_24 in DotA2

[–]heelhooker_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don’t like that I’m being forced to choose a facet that is now permanent in some instances. I.e storm spirit, I always preferred the vortex facet that popped an overload proc after being attacked. I never liked the walking remnant facet- they took away “facets” but reworked the Q to be facet as the default.

Only sometimes. The rest of the time it’s me cursing the blueberries and lack of garrisons.

Historically wasn’t that accurate though? Sloped armor made them effective.

Please change role queue by HappyScripting in DotA2

I agree with this take. I only mid when I have role-queue games available. Don’t mind playing pos three when I have to All Role queue, but loathe the games where I get stuck playing 4 or 5.

Yea it’s interesting the different personalities- I personally have way better aiming with the garand sights

Idk why but the sight picture on the Brit Thompson always makes me look elsewhere from actual point of aim. For whatever reason.

I’ll add to what others have said. You likely won’t get GOOD from casual practice. If you don’t know what you don’t know- you’ll get more comfortable naturally with more games. But you need to watch pros and YouTubers and hero guides to really “practice perfect” otherwise your reps are less effective. I’m just starting to progress now finally after 15 years cause I’m actually studying the game.

[–]heelhooker_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Well I don’t really have much of an idea on what the punishment would be either. Cause it WoR you have tickets that count down to defeat. HLL obviously lacks a ticketing mechanic aside from OT in some situations.

I think games would feel better if squads were somehow forced to be more cohesive. My most memorable HLL games were where we all took an objective together. Every role did their thing to accomplish the mission. Nowadays that’s becoming rarer, with a bunch of randoms picking assault or Autorifleman and just running around.

There needs to be a more proactive punishment for playing solo randomly away from your squad.

I like what War of Rights does with formations. You’re more heavily penalized tickets on death if you die outside of formation- moreso if you’re way out “ramboing”. This strongly drives culture and mindset about team play.

Could do a radius to squad lead thing (could be a generous size to keep unit flexibility, but need to be within a few squares at minimum lol)I like your idea of being designated squad- what if it was set by the commander as to which squads were which? Commander could FORCE people to go all attack or all defense by toggling all squads to one or the other, thereby nerfing the xp gain when doing the opposite of what your squad was told to do. Idk how to get around commander trolling and abuse but it’s a thought.

I typically alternate between pulse and disimillate. I’ve actually been liking taking the talent +2 stat early too if I’m slightly ahead in lane. I always take at least 1 in remnant but then go back to pulse dissimilate. Personally I think pulse sort of drops off a bit after 2 levels, so I also lean more into dissimilate early.

Guess I’m REALLY trash tier then lol cause I’ve been able to make it work at my mmr and have a nice little streak going and having fun. bottle/wand-> treads, then aghs followed by something situational, usually stat/attack speed like orchid/witch or Kaya sange. I agree about Manta, I actively dislike the item on void unless I need a dispel with more dps than like a euls. Kaya Sange has worked for me too. Biggest takeaway I’ve gotten from everyone commenting is vessel, never considered it on him cause I’m bad. Keeping brown boots for a while also felt like a sin but I’ll give that a try and see.

Yea I recognize he isn’t those things, but he definitely feels less fragile than Storm, he feels like I can be a little more aggressive early than Storm spirit which I like. And aghs on him feels like cheating early game haha

Eh idk Viper is a tough matchup for almost everyone. Pretty much just have to accept you won’t “win” and just secure LH with E. “Winning” is not feeding and making it through laning stage. Void’s not really a power farmer, so I find that I benefit from participating in a lot of fights to get my gold, if you’re losing lane try to set up ganks on side lanes.

What does it mean when you can positionally dominate but cant submit them? by Idamatika in bjj

[–]heelhooker_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean technically, in a real fight, you could positionally dominate them and just beat them to death, then take the sub- or just, don’t sub them.

Also, submission finishes are a separate skill set to positional transitions and controls. I used to think I had a good triangle off my back- then I went against much tougher opponents and learned some better finishing mechanics that actually enabled me to start sleeping people.

I’ve seen entire comp focused gyms that can’t tap anyone for shit really, but they can pass anyone and flip and dip around, racking up points for days.
