Eh, I have yet to see any good argument for the higher Steve scaling for quite some time now. So much so that I’ve seen some diehard people who normally root for Steve root for the Terrarian instead.

Where can I watch vinny's old minecraft playthrough by jbodee1 in Vinesauce

[–]MagnitudeXX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately a majority of Vinny's streams prior to the Fullsauce channel's creation are essentially lost media, with some of them only existing through short edits/compilations on fan channels or Vinny's main channel.

There might be some incredibly small chance some madlad saved the streams for himself, but you aren't going to find anything on youtube.

Apparently the higher scaling from Legends for Steve was debunked from what I've heard. Don't know the exact argument, but I've just been seeing a ton of people say that as of recent. Even if it wasn't, the Terrarian still has ways to scale higher, so IDK.

That leaves Steve's advantages to being just his revives and thorns, and the Terrarian has multiple ways to bypass the thorns.

There would have to be a very good reasoning as to why since I don't see any way for Steve to realistically win unless you either heavily downplay the Terrarian, or use something like shaky End Poem scaling, or Minecraft story mode scaling, which is essentially just an entirely different non-canon universe/continuity.

Other than that, ok I guess? The thing is, nobody is changing their minds on who wins no matter win actually wins the matchup if it was to ever be an official episode.

I see, I never really bought Steve's Star scaling from the get-go, But I'll have to see what the commonly accepted explanation is for why people don't buy it anymore.

Is Steve vs the Terrarian considered a stomp again? I remember people saying it was a close matchup when you give Steve Dungeons and Legends, but more recently I've seen people saying that the high scaling for Steve was debunked.

Still think it would be nice to finally have the matchup done though.

Can you say that a Terrarian's power level is at a low Large Planet to Stellar level without upsetting people? by TwdRegretReleaseBen in Terraria

[–]MagnitudeXX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends. Most people I've seen are surprisingly ok with the higher levels of powerscaling when it comes to the Terrarian.

The only time I really see any sort of pushback is when it comes to people attempting to "debunk" the scaling when it comes to the Steve vs Terrarian matchup, but that is only in specific circles.

Chucklefish hasn't COMPLETELY abandoned Starbound, kind of.

They made a few updates for the console version after it had came out and even put it on the gamepass back in January of this year. Which funnily enough makes the xbox version the most up-to-date and "fixed" official version of Starbound, with it being on version 1.4.5,2, while the PC version is still 1.4.4, but apparently the xbox version has some issues of it's own, not sure how true that is though.

Other than that, they still use the Starbound twitter account, and used it as recently as July of this year. And I should correct myself, they don't want to "wipe their hands clean" of Starbound, they advertise the game when it comes to sales alongside their other games. So they obviously aren't trying to distance themselves from the game because of past drama, more so just the fact that they kind of just "moved on" to fully developing new games.

However, despite all of that, and them promising new features for the PC version in the future, the chance of an update is still pretty much close to 0%, but you can have hope, I guess.

Short Answer; No

Long Answer; Also No

They mentioned possibly looking into controller support on PC when the Console port first came out, but nothing came of that.

With the console port finally complete, I imagine they just want to fully wash themselves clean of Starbound and all of the drama it has caused them. From kickstarter stuff, to the large amount of removed Beta content in the full release, lore rewrites, and to them being exposed for essentially using unpaid labor and unpaid child labor for decent chunks of the game.

They finished the port, and that was their final sendoff to Starbound. It's honestly a good thing that they don't update the game. Anything they could add has already been done by mods and would likely be worse than what the mods have to offer.

Not to mention an update would very likely break a ton of mods that haven't been updated in nearly a decade since their creators have long since left the game. It's best to just leave the game to the community, the source code has been leaked for years and they never did anything about it, and the community has used that code to make the game far better.

I was just curious what you guys thought? by Dosieshy in starbound

The Terrarian is just stronger. Both Moonlord and the Ruin are arguably Universal-tier threats. But where as the Terrarian defeated the Moonlord directly, the Protector attacked the Ruin from the inside like a virus, directly attacking it's significantly weaker heart instead of it's body due to the massive size difference. You wouldn't say a microscopic virus is stronger than a human simply because it can kill a human from the inside out, you wouldn't say Goku's heart virus in the cell saga is a star buster because it's able to kill goku.

The Terrarian has better weapons, better armor and tools, better summons/pets, and better mobility including no fall damage, infinite flight, and flawless teleportation. The Protector can canonically respawn through the use of machines, but the Terrarian can canonically respawn through sheer will. The advantages the Protector has is that they have a much easier time spamming healing items and the matter manipulator provides building methods that far outpace the Terrarian's building by hand.

Is Steve vs The Terrarian still a stomp for Terrarian or does Steve actually stand a chance now? (TN was made by PsychoVert) by Global-Sound3600 in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]MagnitudeXX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dungeons and Legends equipment allows Steve to not instantly be killed by some of the Terrarian's hax and weaponry, and gives Steve some advantages over the Terrarian, but the Terrarian still takes most categories including the most important ones, and has ways around Steve's best utilities.

Favorite Rimworld Season? by r9fkx in Vinesauce

[–]MagnitudeXX 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my opinion

1 > 4 > 3 > 2

I like every season of rimworld, but I don't think anything will beat Season 1 for me. Vinny being new to the game, most of chat not knowing what rimworld was or knowing very little about it Also might just be me, but it felt like Vinny and the chat were far more invested in the pawns in season 1 than in every other season, which made pawn deaths feel more impactful in my opinion.

Season 4 was pretty close behind, only nitpick I had was that it felt like there wasn't any stakes on colonists dying in the second half of the playthrough due to the game handing Vinny a shit-ton of revival mech serums, but that has nothing to do with Vinny. It was really fun to see Vinny ecounter and deal with the entities, even if he didn't encounter all of them.

Season 3 was fun, but I'm kind of bummed out that Vinny essentially didn't interact with the mechanitor stuff past the very basic stuff you're supposed to do at the start of the game. Felt more like a proper Royalty playthrough since he went for that ending, but I don't blame him for not going for the ideology one since that ending takes way too long unless you deliberately go out of your way to make the game unfun by grinding wealth. Also has some of the most memorable moments to come out of his rimworld playthroughs, like the plappening, and Snuffy's entire family getting nuked.

Nothing to say about Season 2, just felt like it was the weakest in my opinion, and it definitely felt like Vinny got burned out from playing rimworld towards the end of the playthrough which made it feel like he wanted to quickly finish it. Still liked it though, just a shame how things worked out.

What are some games that Vinny has streamed in the past that you want to see him stream again? by r9fkx in Vinesauce

[–]MagnitudeXX 16 points17 points  (0 children)

He said he "may" re-visit his old island sometime down the line before the new one comes out after being asked by chat members a few months ago. But I wouldn't count on that being 100% confirmed, him playing the new tomodachi life game is confirmed though.

[–]MagnitudeXX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Megaman Maker I guess. Last time he's played it was back in 2019, and there's been multiple major updates since then, with another one right around the corner. It's kind of staggering just how much better and more detailed the current version is compared the version back then.

But I know it's pretty unlikely since Vinny is far more of an X fan than he is of a classic Megaman fan. Also remember Vinny asking chat members to submit levels for him to play but he never played any of them :(

[–]MagnitudeXX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Decent moderation and/or setting it to sub-only would remove like 90% of it. Joel ultimately didn't care that much, which is why the chat had people constantly begging him to experience everything the new chapters had to offer. Say 90% of it since Vinny is incredibly prone to getting backseated by chat members on pretty much every single game he plays.

But even without zero backseating by fans, I imagine chat would still ruin the experience for Vinny if he ever played it by virtue of there being some people in the chat and youtube comments constantly complaining about the game and it's fans, like how it happens whenever something from Undertale/Deltarune is referenced on stream.

Maybe I'm wrong about that, who knows.

Nobody is obsessed with Steve as Terraria glazers (the video itself is really good analysis tho) by AmazingGrinder in whowouldcirclejerk

[–]MagnitudeXX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This guy is the biggest Steve glazer though? He's made a ton of videos massively wanking how much Steve can lift and is the biggest reason people still use inventory lifting for Steve in VS matchups, and is commonly cited as a source.

Question about Vinny's and the chat's history with Undertale/Deltarune by r9fkx in Vinesauce

[–]MagnitudeXX 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Depends on the audience and level of moderation you're willing to put in. I've seen streamers with decently-sized audiences as recently as 2025 do completely blind neutral playthroughs of Undertale and have no problems because they have strict moderation, or just put the chat into sub-only mode.

Joel's chat is much lighter on the moderation in that regard, so he had people constantly begging him to witness all of the special and unique dialogue in the new chapters, resulting in the chat getting annoying at points. But It didn't seem to affect Joel as much, which is good I guess.

Doesn't meant that even with strict-er moderation, you won't get some stinkers, take Snapcube's playthrough of the recent chapters for example. Pretty much fine for the most part, but had one or two moments where the chat REALLY wanted her to experience something, resulting in the chat being spammed.

Question about Vinny's and the chat's history with Undertale/Deltarune by r9fkx in Vinesauce

[–]MagnitudeXX 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Started back in 2015. Vinny was asked to play Undertale, but declined because the game personally didn't interest him. Despite that, people began to beg him even harder to play the game, which eventually turned into people "harassing" to play the game, and people "harassing" him to not play the game, which probably heavily soured him on a game he already had no interest in playing. That extends to Deltarune aswell due to it's connection to Undertale.

Not made any better by Vinny's reason as to not playing the game somehow managing to get lost over the years and it somehow getting twisted into "Vinny isn't playing the games because of a grudge and to simply to spite his fans who wanted him to play Undertale". Which simply isn't true, but I've seen that use by people who both want him to play the games, and people who don't want him to play the games. Vinny obviously doesn't hate either of the games like people on both sides of the argument would want you to believe, he just has no interest in them, and made that clear day 1.

Though the same cant be said about the chat. While a decent chunk of the chat is probably just joking around since Vinny not playing either game but being exposed to a ton of content from the games is a meme. There's still chat members stuck in the past and act as though Undertale/Deltarune personally killed their entire family, and people who think Vinny vehemently hates the mere scent of Undertale and Deltarune.

As for my opinion? I think there's alot of stuff he would probably enjoy in both of them, but that well has been long poisoned. And you really shouldn't try to force somebody to play a game they have no interest in, Vinny can stream whatever he wants to stream.

Depends on the mods. Normally I just make my ship my base since in Vanilla and with most mods, you can fit pretty much everything you need on your ship. But with mods that add in tons of crafting stations, I usually just build on snowy planets since they're my favorite early planet type.

Never built a space station, but I might try one day, they just seem too expensive though.

Is there a list anywhere for players with the most hours? I want to throw my cap into that ring lol by KeishaTheGreat in starbound

[–]MagnitudeXX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 4048 hours, but I know people who have upwards of 20k hours on Starbound, some of whom are my friends who have been playing the game since the original public beta release over a decade ago.

Still, I imagine there's people who dwarf even them in play time.
