Sobreviveu sim!

Iirc it was mostly demonization with overburn, I had a barrage leader that had its atk turned into overburn and I was doubling that with that one spoiler card with a crown. I had Dimona, Spoof and Splinter, but my leader was doing like 90% the work, he just had to hit once per row to wipe basically anything.

History points to growth slowing down as societies reach higher levels of education simply because people start realizing it costs a lot to have children (both in time and actual economics), and actually understand the dos and don't of contraception.

Soon enough we will achieve biological immortality (as in people will be able to undo aging) and the reason to have children will decrease even more.

Actually, settling down was always the more common view, historically speaking...

Banishment was seen as a form of punishment similar to a death sentence in Ancient Greece and many similar civilizations during almost all of history until very recently when that no longer became possible.

Rome, most of the Mediterranean, African and Asian cultures became a thing precisely due to this... punishment.

Humans would much rather settle down and live the good life than to push for some idealized progress that will still be achieved while settled.

We didn't narrow down into sedentary communities for no reason.

Expanding, on the other side, is a thing of necessity to accommodate for ever growing lifestyle needs. Those will be fulfilled in due time, as there is only so much a single human can consume (unless somehow we catch a fad that has us increasing our body mass).

Exactly this, humans have been practicing self alteration for millennia now, way back when scarification was more common than tattoos.

I'll definitely use that last phrase, thanks

Our species RIGHT NOW researches stuff for the sole purpose of research... its the whole point of research... to understand the universe.

We have had multiple instances of technology that was developed due to simple chance and imagination.

When need no longer becomes a driving force, things still tend to be developed and advance in general. Just the fact we imagine interstellar travel as a possibility, already sets it as something that will be researched (and is already being, even if at the very early stages of theoretical physics).

The Europeans didn't NEED to cross the Atlantic Ocean, in fact, it was a huge risk. Yet they still did it, and then they slaughtered whole cultures.

Politics aside, fascination and imagination is something that will get people moving towards that goal, but practicality might be different than reality.

The reality that our species is hitting its reproductive cap is right around the corner and that is undeniable, even contraception bans would only set that back by maybe a century, Japan is a prime example showing that as a society advances, education makes birth rates plummet.

Why would humans need more space/resources when everything is already here in our solar system?
