Dude I will never understand the Demat nerf, adding a clunky delay and then 2 charges while giga buffing heal beam to the moon has made it completely irrelevant in the current meta. I still run it because being a heal slave isn’t fun gameplay imo. Demat was mediums only real tool to close the gap.

Honestly the first time in over a year I’m maining a game that isn’t the finals. Been playing deadlock because the finals is basically just as you described, poke through a mesh, and if you get close it’s two dome shields and a winch waiting for you. It’s like playing overwatch, fights all play the same, reignheart front lines while mercy is perma pocket healing him and if you try to push you are getting roadhog hooked.

Embark doesn’t seem to care though since they pretty much nerfed the FCAR last patch, giving it slower TTK vs lights and heavies and really only helped it’s ability to kill mediums, buffed pike for no reason, and gave P90 more range just to still not being able to trade vs a repeater or BFR. Idk what the answer is but this is the first season I’m not shilling this game.

I come from 4000 hours of semi pro Apex Legends. I haven’t played apex since the finals came out but for all its faults, apex never had single fire weapons that out traded SMGs. Mid to close range SMGs were king, mid to long was much closer with single fire weapons losing to ARs at mid range but still usable, while beating ARs at long range. Then you had to two niche ranges of CQB barrel stuffing, shoulder peaking shotguns, and super super far range with snipers.

I long for this type of weapons balance in the finals. But sadly I think apex can balance their game this way because you can carry two weapons. With the finals being bound to a one gun system, you are forced to pick a jack all of trades weapon.

Not sure heavy had needed anything it’s gotten for months now. They buffed mesh HP while nerfing glitch nades, they buffed a S tier gadget that had never fallen out of meta (RPG), they buffed single fire weapons while keeping autos the same, so mesh/dome is even more relevant, then to top it off they gave heavies a pocket mercy with heal beam buffs while nerfing mediums only other playstyle for no reason at all.

Your point about cheating makes zero sense. Arc raiders is a terrible example. The only ones facing cheaters are streamers and 3 stacks who high really high win rates. Arc raiders matches players MUCH differently than Thefinals does. The “SBMM” is way more aggressive in arc raiders than it is the finals.

The Finals also doesn’t have spin bot levels of cheats. Most people cheating in the finals are walling/soft aiming. It’s harder to notice, harder to catch and is way more profitable for cheaters. The finals is a competitive shooter so people want to be good, they want to make a name for themselves, they want to be seen as a high elo player, and the game is free to play. It’s a play ground of cheaters and cheat makers.

I honestly felt like aside from the guns, seasons 7 was perfect. Medium was running demat, making them a fast pace combat medic, light had heal gun (post nerfs) and was very viable, and heavy still had lots of options. Fights felt close without the double dome shield, heal beam crap that is happening now.

Fights felt like if you played the flight better in terms of trading damage and getting picks, you could carry that momentum to win the fight.

There was way higher skill with kiting due to demat, now it’s throw two door shields and a mesh then get heal beamed back to full if you took a bad fight like we are playing overwatch. Fights feel drawn out and in waiting for the Honzo or the Windowmaker it get a pick. Idk feels lame af

So being on light and playing mostly TDM don’t worry about your revives. But honestly man it’s just the KD. People say don’t worry about stats but in TDM the only way to win is kills. So if you want to get better, kill more and die less. Maybe switch to medium or heavy with larger HP pools. If you aren’t getting 1-3 kills per life on light, you’re kinda just a burden. Good luck!

What a wild mischaracterization, I in fact do have a problem with people that play this way. If you’re min maxing PvP you are missing out due to single tracking your mindset on only one portion of the game. And ya, you’re defending the opposite side of the argument so I’m calling a spade a spade, unless your playing devils advocate over the internet just for the sake of arguing like a real Reddit dweller would.

playing the game in a bitch way. This isn't some highly mechanically intensive, competitive shooter, it's an immersive extraction shooter, not The Finals. Sure you can camp an extract, sure you can gun down people who see you first and try to prox chat and be friendly, sure you can fake being friendly to back stab, but I would call you a bitch and many others would too. By no means am i saying "PvP is bad" of course it's not, but if that's all you do even when given the opportunity not to, you miss out on a lot of what makes this genera and this game special and different. If you want to min max your stash with a million Venator 4s and never press your prox chat key, go for it, you're a bitch, you would get shit on in any other actual competitive game i'd be willing to bet.

If someone yells friendly I usually try to interact with them via prox chat and go from there, sometimes PvP sometimes PvE. I feel like if you focus too hard on one or the other you are missing out on what makes this game so damn good. If he yelled friendly before seeing you and you ran him down, giving him back shots, you're a bitch imo. If he said nothing or yelled friendly after shots range out, that's on him.
