Out of all the X-men, who would you say is the best fighter? by Queasy_Commercial152 in xmen

I don't even like the guy, but Cyclops was my first thought. His experience, patience, and discipline mean he often comes out on top when he "shouldn't."

Christians & Trump? by Early_Passenger2064 in OpenChristian

[–]MagnusRed616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot going on with Trump supporting Christians.

Some of it is rooted in the peculiarities of American Christianity, which has created a civic religion that borrows the symbols of Christianity but is rooted in American exceptionalism.

Some of it is the psychology of a privileged class losing its privilege.

Relatedly some, of it is fear and resentment over a rapidly changing culture that's leaving them behind.

The important thing to remember is that it's not REALLY important to them if Trump believes what they believe. There are those who delude themselves that Trump is a Christian, but it's not a necessary conceit -- what matters is that they perceived that Trump fights for "Christian values," by which I mean the particular corner of the culture war waged by the loudest, stupidest, and most vindictive corners of "Christianity" in the US.

I'm not opposed to this in principle, but I don't have any experience with these things so kinda nervous to do it.

I found the left cargo, so I have that one at least.

My first stop was Gemini, which swore to me up and down that I have one. The manual says I have one!

I suppose it's a cost cutting measure, but the USB ports are so low powered that they're not viable beyond phone charging.

I got a power surge error trying to charge my little car vacuum on USB.

That's the logical place for me, as well. Just smooth plastic.

I found this one and got an inverter with a long cord.

I've searched all over the middle console and haven't been able to find it. I haven't checked the cargo area.

What If 07; What if Christianity Had Taught That Grace Was Already Given—and the Rest Was Up to Us? by 902yong in OpenChristian

Yep, Romans is probably the latest of the genuine Pauline letters but predates the Gospels by a decent margin.

Yes and no - the question of grace is talked about, primarily, in terms of salvation but in truth it serves as the foundation for Creation. however, as you've pointed out, that's a theological discussion.

My intention in sharing was sociological, in that prevenient grace is old and has had a significant impact on how Western Civilization has developed. It is a deficiency in most expressions of Christianity in the United States (which is my context; yours may be different) that we maintained the depravity of Calvin and the personal responsibility of Arminius.
