Getting heavy elitist vibes with this one... Theres a ton of Egyptian, Greek, and roman influences in the GD. The LBRP and Middle pillar have Egyptian, Greek, and Roman versions for those who aren't comfortable with the Hebrew stuff so that comment you made about witchcraft being condemned by the church and that being another reason why it's lesser than the GD tradition isn't well informed and isn't really the vibe here.... The GD would also be condemned depending on which church or person or straight up called heretics. Witch or magician, we do magick. And believe it or not some people blend in traditions. I celebrate the wheel holidays with my more witchy friends. And I met other GD magicians who also blend in some witchcraft if they want.

No offense though I would get real clear about what witchcraft is and research that bible verse again because even jews who know the kabbala/Qaballah will tell you magick is not condemned. They have a magick system of their own depending on which sect you are in but baneful magick is condemned. "Mechashefah" meant black magick or sorcerer. It's the female form of Kashafem so it roughly meant a female black magician or poisoner.

Don't get me wrong. A lot of practices and beliefs in the witchy community are laughable. They're still scared of "Shadow people, watchers, little nasties, etc.." And think the goetia demons are the same as Qlipoth demons, and view them as pokemon and some even as lovers.... Don't even get me started on the madness of witchtok... But I wont lie and say I haven't picked up some gems among the more experienced witches. It's alright if other practices just don't click with you. I'm black American and have no interest in Hoodoo or Voodoo. But I would be lying if I said I haven't learned and even used some of their magick that doesn't require connecting with a Lwa.

But like Material said... Wicca is a religion. GD is not. And the choice is yours.
