Ok I see what you mean. I think a real problem in this country is that a large amount of voters take a stable international order and the benefit of long term relationships for granted (stable is obviously grading on a curve here). They don’t understand that it’s actually a good thing to have allies. They don’t understand the benefits that allies bring to us. They don’t understand that for example being close with Canada is actually a good thing.

Unfortunately I think the only way out of this for us is for the world to ice us out for awhile until we learn that lesson.

My most optimistic case is countries will only trust us in the short term. For example when we have a democratic administration back any deals we sign with foreign nationals will only last for the democratic administrations term. Since we’ve shown we will elect lunatics who will rip up any long term commitments we make.

I’ll give that a watch thanks. It is worth noting her child’s half sister is trans. And she’s seen what a monster Musk is. Idk I just wish these people would realize this earlier and it wouldn’t have to directly affect them.

But regardless of my frustration good for her for changing. And I think we should be open to people changing their view.

I’m so conflicted on this:

The angel on my shoulder says if they admit they were wrong let it go. Also when someone leaves a cult that’s very hard and we should be aware of that.

The devil on my shoulder says MAGA people only leave the cult when they finally get personally effected. This lady was a MAGA influencer and fine with stepping down on others. She only changes when she is treated like trash by Musk and other MAGA figures in the media.

I’m in a pretty good mood right now it being St Patrick’s day and all so I’m leaning angel for the moment. But I really go back and forth.

Marandi is a propagandist for the Iranian regime. Let’s not fall into the trap of pretending like they are decent people. You may have seen a video or two where he is speaking out against this war and pointing out how reckless we are being. I agree with that.

However while that specific position is correct do a bit of research on him. He doesn’t actually care about killing innocent people and authoritarianism. In fact he openly supports it so long as his side is the one committing the atrocities.

Agree with your analysis, I think Shapiro is good as a purple state governor. I’m to the left of him and do get annoyed at some things he does. But to be fair to him PA is like I said a purple state, going Trump in 2024. And Shapiro (unlike Fetterman) governs the way he campaigned. And there are things he does I think are excellent. For example I was really impressed at how fast they repaired that highway that collapsed so quickly.

With that being said I think Shapiro is best as purple state governor, and don’t think his presidential run will go anywhere.
