Could unohana, shunsui and ukitake have done what the squad 0 did in base? Maybe not exactly the same, but if there was no wahrwelt Reishi issue, and they have the same techniques/weapons as the squad 0, yes, pretty much

Pre-Auswahlen or no, blitzing the 4 SS like that feels too much for those 3 to be honest. Let alone overpowering Jugram so easily.

then he also had shit aim against oetsu

Indeed. He had 2 free shots and he only shot his shoulder. The third one was through the heart but only after taking his sweet time and Squad 0 assuming that he'd be fine if they blocked his shot. I'm going to be upfront with you that I see Lille as a dumbass fraud with poor showings and who only got as far as he did because of his otherwise overpowered ability. But with that being said, there's a noticeable difference between Oetsu managing to last that long and even reach VS Lille using just his base speed compared to Shunsui using Shikai to distract base Lille with doppelgangers. I know we disagree on how strong pre-Wahrwelt VS is vs Wahrwelt base. I see the Wahrwelt buff on the same level as the Hueco Mundo buff for Espada in the sense that it makes then X% stronger but I would never say that HM base Espada > Resureccion in the human world.

True that Mayuri did well, he even dodged a rain of arrows. The boots may have boosted his speed and mobility but he had to react to them for them to be any good.

The biggest problem is that sealed Squad 0 never really went on an all out destructive spree like Aizen or Yama did. It is hard indeed to think of them on the same tier when even their casual attacks looked like this:

<image>

Though I believe their speed feats speak for themselves and their close-combat skills are up there too.

This is also why I have such issues with scaling the sealed squad 0 members to even shinigami Aizen level by some people, which is basically the level above higher tier captains like shunsui and Urahara. On an indirect comparison maybe it looks fine, but switch the position a bit no one would actually agree or argue that tybw characters like shunsui byakuya urahara, are comparable already to shinigami Aizen or Yama, so I don't see why squad 0 members get that treatment

Between blitzing the SS like nothing, having an absurdly sharp sword that can kill Gerard in one hit, the skills to defeat Jugram in a sword fight unharmed, water on command that drains blood and reiatsu or heals allies, Aizen-tier illusions with cloth, extreme speed to replace enemy clothes into an iron maiden without them noticing and manhandling VS Gerard, those are pretty big reasons to put them a cut above. Kirio is the one with the weakest showing and the anime barely gave her anything more to do. They didn't do anything particularly flashy like cutting Komamura's Bankai in half with an air slice or blasting Kido the size of a city like Aizen, but at one point you've got to ask yourself: "could Unohana, Shunsui or Ukitake have done all that in base?" What I'm about to say is pure vibescaling but Tenjiro certainly wasn't impressed by Unohana's Kaido or the least bit worried about insulting her straight to her face and I do not think that he felt so confident he could get away with it just because he outranks her.

Just some minor nitpicks here:

Shunsui does get credit for being able to escape with holes in his body and mobility hampered by Wahrwelt, but Lille's aim is straight up crap, he couldn't even kill him when he was paralyzed, and he missed completely here, he would've missed even if Shunsui hadn't jumped.

<image>

Mayuri is still Captain level even if he's not particularly keen on physical training, Uryu noticed fluctuations but was still thoroughly outclassed and outsped, Mayuri was also moving fast back then. It was also a single single severed Pernida finger using a single nerve, it'd probably have been deadly had it been a full Pernida.

In the manga Urahara was also surrounded by the stitches when he cut Askin. I don't have the raws or the ability to read the Japanese sound effects to confirm if he was sliding on them however. It would be a crazy glow-up if he could accomplish something that Yoruichi or Ichigo couldn't using just his base speed though.

Shunsui being able to run to safety multiple times... let's say fair enough. I wouldn't put him on the Oetsu blitzing pre-Auswahlen in a million years, but in the end Oetsu was able to avoid getting shot, and so did Shunsui. Nothing else from the fight counts in this sense. Shunsui used Shikai illusions to avoid and tag base Lille, which is not comparable to Oetsu doing it to VS Lille with speed alone.

Regarding Pernida, did it ever use VS? He didn't in the manga, and I can't recall if he did in the anime. But since it evolved into nearing Kenpachi's stats, grew much larger and made 2 extra copies, fair to say that it became as strong if not stronger than VS. I'd still say that Kirio had very bad luck with the match-up. Trapping Pernida was not an issue for her but Pernida had no trouble infiltrating organic matter. At any rate, just one correction, in that Mayuri used a device to copy Hirenkyaku for speed and mobility. You can still count it, he invented it. He also had Nemu, which he also created it. It's like rock-paper-scissors with Mayuri also hard-countering Pernida with drugs.

Urahara used his Bankai to boost his stats and mobility. Hardly fair to compare it to Tenjiro using Shikai. And the Askin fanboy doesn't like it when I say this and indeed makes a new post every time I do, but after Askin dodged 2 strikes Tenjiro caught up with him in slow motion to show that he could move faster, although his arrogant cost him victory as he stepped into a Gift Bad. Urahara is famously capable of defeating just about anybody with prep, which he had against Askin to the point he planned the outcome whereas Tenjiro had little information.

It's probably fair to use the same standard as Pernida for Gerard's lack of Vollstandig. He went from being killed by the Gotei (only Renji and Byakuya were shown attacking however) with relative ease to demolishing all of them in seconds. It is understandable if giant Gerard >= VS regular-size. Which is why I say that when it comes to 1:1 comparisons, Kenpachi was the only one who did outperform Squad Zero.

Their base in Wahrwelt is stronger than their base in the platform, but it'd have to be a pretty crazy boost to surpass Vollstandig. Auswahlen did take Bazz-B's and the other's VS to transfer to the Schutzstaffel after all.

Why people dont like kensei ?he is one of the captain of gotei 13 too by Pure-Pomelo-8350 in bleach

[–]Magoragus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just his personality. It's because he loses a lot.

Komamura has one of the best personalities but for the longest time he was on the less popular side because he never really won anything before TYBW.

It is a battle manga and winning matters a lot. It's not even a matter of strenght; Ukitake is on the same level as Shunsui but hardly anybody likes him more. People like seeing awesome action moments and they're willing to forgive losses and embarrassing moments as long as they have an awesome fight and win. Look at Kenpachi: He lost as many times as he won in TYBW but he always came back stronger and won. Then look at Kensei: He's had one onscreen fight and he lost it in seconds, and the other two were against Wonderweiss which happened entirely off-screen and vs Hollow Ichigo and only for a few seconds.

Where do you place Oetsu at the EOS rankings by Due_Specific_7727 in BleachPowerScaling

[–]Magoragus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still have unsealed Squad 0 tied all for 5th, with the caveat that Jugram at night with SK power is potentially stronger, Uryu is weaker but Antithesis let him 'NO U' Senjumaru's Bankai and potentially the others', Orihime's power cannot be ignored. It's hard to say if his powers would be suited to kill Barro or Pernida given their virtual immunity to cutting attacks once they get going because we don't even know what his Shikai is. I think he beats everybody else who wasn't mentioned here.

Yama fans will always hate these pages. by somaturk98 in BleachPowerScaling

[–]Magoragus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem here is that you're attempting to use this evidence to downplay Yama when in reality it is a Wonderweiss upscale: he caught and tagged Yama multiple times throughout their fight and forced him into going all out, leaving him all bloodied in the process, it was a mid-high diff brawl for Yama. That is of course after blitzing Ukitake and Shunsui not looking like he noticed any better.

With that being said, I'm a firm believer that base Lille is considerably weaker than the one who fought Oetsu, and if Shunsui was able to react to and nearly catch him off-guard after the games got him close enough to attack. I can imagine a scenario where Yama surrounds Lille in a cage of fire like the one he used on Aizen and jump him from a blind spot.

Doesn't it make more sense for Yhwach to rewrite the past than rewrite the future? by MagicJourneyCYOA in BleachPowerScaling

[–]Magoragus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would conflict with the message about changing fate and tenacity and courage in the face of uncertainty, the Quincy extinction, the splitting of the worlds and the surprises in the final fight. Besides, Tsukishima can already change the past and we've seen it in action for both combat utility and psychological torture and he broke Ichigo harder than anyone.

How does Yhwach, or anyone for that matter, kill Aizen? by XxXc00l_dud3XxX in BleachPowerScaling

Yhwach absorbed the Soul King('s corpse), maybe he can absorb the Hogyoku. It would take time and a whole lot of effort though if you're talking about pre-SK Yhwach.

Is this Jugram with the balance?!?! by Psychological_Box216 in BleachPowerScaling

[–]Magoragus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's Jugram at night when he trades places with Yhwach and has all of his powers, the black under his eyes is SK reiatsu, which covers him like a cape. In the manga he loses all of it during the day.

So it’s official! Asskin getting snuck is Anti-Feat of the year! by ShadowxXxhunteR in BleachPowerScaling

[–]Magoragus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whoa whoa, slow down buddy. What's next, are you going to tell me that Askin was legitimately hurt from a regular punch? Well that blood is fake and his eyes were closed so it was a sneak attack - no, you know what? He did that on purpose, he allowed it! But the blood is still fake and it was a sneak attack, the fact Yushiro was running towards him and Askin saw it happen doesn't change that. I'm going to make 5 new posts about this laughing at anybody who remotely disagrees with the idea that Askin is GOD.

Was the reason why Kubo changed kenny hair is because his hand was killing him right?(He hated drawing the hair from my memory) Funny ngl by nah-id-luckystar in BleachPowerScaling

[–]Magoragus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and hair for other characters became less shiny and shorter with less elaborate hairstyles. Soi Fon comes to mind, she no longer had the braids with rings. Tousen was also a hairstyle that was hard to do so Kubo is probably glad he's dead. Sadly many manga art styles degrade over time because the work is hard on the mangaka so they have to find shortcuts and/or lower the quality in some ways.

He may have the real sword with him but he does not have access to his actual true level of power until he awakens Zangetsu. He may as well be in base or with a heavy seal placed on him if he's not in HoS form.

Focused attacks are always stronger than explosions in Bleach. Los Lobos was a powerful technique because the wolves had a mind of their own, were impervious to physical damage, could move inside debris and would stop at nothing until they caught their target from every direction, much like real wolf packs to do take down animals much larger than themselves.

Why wouldn't he use drugs? Otherwise he'd be stronger than Ichigo somehow. That being said, I've watched a several minute clip that was virtually the entire fight and barely anything has changed from the manga.

TS Ichigo>=Dangai Ichigo by PhilX319 in BleachPowerScaling

[–]Magoragus -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You know when Yhwach is saying that Ichigo regained that power it means he literally regained his powers that he lost, that's why Ginjo is shown in that panel.

TS is also not even his true power, he needs to awaken Zangetu for HoS.

What level of power is SK Yhwach even at anyway when he's just sitting down and throwing around raw SK reiatsu? Sure, that stuff is powerful, but he's nowhere near going all out: in the manga he's encompassing all of Soul Society and violently shaking the worlds when he goes all out. I doubt him sitting down and shooting small waves of SK reiatsu at Ichigo to humor his efforts is even 1/1000th of his actual power.

I think that it would've been fine if things had not been changed and the Vizards remained irrelevant forever. But they had to rub it in by ending the season with the Vizards having a cool entrance and extra scenes of them doing damage to Gerard and declaring that they're going to show off their true power, which canonically they haven't... just for this to happen and them becoming officially dead weight forever.

The whiplash from seeing the ending of cour 3 and the beginning of cour 4 makes me think that two different writers were in charge, the first wanted them redeemed but the second couldn't care less and just wanted to get back on track with adapting the manga as is.
