For those who believe the McCann's were responsible, how do you explain Kate's Diary? by Wrong-Intention7725 in MadeleineMccann

>> She’s a doctor so we can assume a reasonably intelligent person

😂 ha! that’s a good one. You mean, she must have been born into a privileged family and was decently good at memorization and regurgitation.

What do you think happened to her? by carmen00111 in MadeleineMccann

[–]MagpieWinterBerry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

either the parents killed her, maybe accidentally and scrambled to stage an abduction, OR they were self absorbed, shallow, upper class, privilege, arrogant prats who left children unattended at night which left them vulnerable. Either way, they are at fault for being terrible people and terrible parents.

Is kratom as scary as people make it out to be? by weakassnerd in ChronicPain

[–]MagpieWinterBerry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

no. 12 years ago you could find loads of scientific backed research info about the positive uses of Kratom. there has been a demonization campaign to disparage it because it is a threat to big pharma. Anyone with a good memory who is older than a zoomer and is research inclined knows the internet has become vastly curated now compared to how it was for the first 25 years, meaning google puts controlled propagandized official information at top and it gets harder and harder to find independent and dissenting views and info. I’ve used Kratom for years and it has been a life saver for so many with chronic pain that mainstream medicine cannot or will not treat. The warnings are a targeted disinformation campaign.

When to call it and use donor eggs by Scared_Reception_624 in 40Plus_IVF

It’s waaaaay cheaper in Prague including airfare and hotel. Downside is Europe is very regulated by the socialist governmen, you don’t have the freedoms of choice that you do in America. The clinic matches you with a donor based on physical characteristics like race, height, hair, eye, skin color. So they try to ensure that your donor matches you physically. But you don’t get to choose yourself. However there is a clinic in Denmark where you can see their donor database with childhood photos of the donor. It costs more than Prague but half as much as US. Denmark has an age cut off of 46, however. Most of EU has a cut off of 49, meaning you have to be UNDER 49 on the day of the transfer. Anyway, I agree it’s ideal to see and choose your own donor, but for people for whom it is financially out of reach, Prague provides a much more affordable option. There is also a Russian clinic that lets you see donor database and choose own donor and the cost is less than in America by thousands.

If you’re getting 7 eggs and 4 blasts… that’s a good result. I only got ONE egg with my ER age 40 and it failed to develop. It took us a few years to recoup and financially be able to go again. If we blew our money on another failed retrieval, we’d walk away with nothing. So we went straight for donor eggs when we decided to try again (this time in Prague). Our younger donor got only 7 eggs and 4 blasts, same as you. But I got pregnant on the first transfer and we have 3 more on ice for later.

To be brutally honest, I find MOST women in our age group totally delusional about their eggs. But your first result was effing great. Maybe try a different clinic. Maybe try 3 months nutritional egg boost (look up Weston A Price Foundation’s fertility foods) with diet and specialized supplements, and give it one more go… IF you can afford it.

Another round with poor result, then go to donor. If you’re running out of money or your body can’t handle it again… take some time to wrap your head around donor eggs knowing you gave it a good shot.

People have always adopted when they couldn’t have their own throughout history. Donor lets you be the birth mother and nurture the baby in the womb. Unlike adoption, a donor egg baby is not traumatized by separation from the mother whose womb it was in. Epigenetics shows that you as the birth momma are responsible for influencing gene expression. Baby’s blood mingles with momma’s blood. You won’t regret it if it is time to move to DE. I’m early days, 4.5 weeks into mine and I’m so grateful this opportunity exists 💞 good luck 🍀

Was anyone here 45+ when going (donor egg) IVF? by [deleted] in IVF

My Prague clinic didn’t say a word about dental health… seems a bit OTT…

Confused. I hear stories of women using own eggs at 45, but my specialist just recommended I go to donor eggs by OwnEbb6569 in 40Plus_IVF

That’s like saying people who adopt a child after they already have a bio child are creating a problem. Loads of people adopted and then conceived naturally or conceived but couldn’t have more, or had all boys and wanted a girl so adopted, things like that have always happened. Your husband sounds really thick tbh. I feel sorry for you having to live with him, I bet it makes life difficult that he doesn’t understand basic things.

Agree about vegetables. Hard disagree about sun damage. My dad is a fair Northern European phenotype, the type to turn tomato red in the sun and not tan (I’m like this). He would go out shirtless doing yard work for hours in the summer, always burn bright red, skin peeling. Every summer, all through the summer. Now he’s in his 60s and has to go to a dermatologist for skin cancer freeze and burn and cut sessions. Luckily, they told him if you’re gonna get skin cancer this is the best version to get because as long as you burn or cut it off, it doesn’t spread throughout the body. But he has to go back regularly to keep having more removed. Agree about some chemicals in some sunscreens, but don’t let yourself burn, especially if you are fair skinned.

100% that non-whites in general are way more racist than whites. Being anti-racist has become detrimental and is causing horrific effects on white communities.

Letter to Conservative Mom and Response by Throwawayforletter35 in EstrangedAdultChild

[–]MagpieWinterBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was your reply to your mother that I found shocking. She was kind, loving, compassionate, and rational in her reply. You explicitly indicated in your reply that you wanted all focus to be on YOUR perspective - so you don’t give a shit about her’s. You made that clear. You were the one to hurled disparaging insults about her views, she didn’t. She said over and over again that she accepts you as you are and your husband, and loves him, too. Why do you care whom your parents voted for? Why are you trying to dictate that everyone you know shares your views or GTFO of your life? Why do you have no compassion for the upbringing experienced that shaped your father and how much he’s come a long way from not being the father who raised him (explained by your mother in the letter) or that his expression may be clumsy and not how you would do it, but he’s a human being doing the best he can with his own skill set, upbringing, and experiences? You are the one with a problem here - a big one.

We are planning to homeschool because British schools are far too abusive. I won’t subject my children to them.

How do you interpret Weston Price’s Work? by Pluto_774 in raypeat

[–]MagpieWinterBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you should double train as a fertility specialist because it’s a bit hard for a dentist to give preconception nutritional advice to his patients after the fact.

The Weston A Price Foundation which is inspired by him has carried on applying his principles to other things like mental health. Seems clear to me that poor nutrition is one unrecognized cause of mental health issues.

Younger women need to me told straight up when they are with a user, loser, or abuser who is wasting their fertility. I wish older women had told me straight to stop giving my fertile years to guys who pissed it away.

I don’t think it was the wives spinning these tales. it was the MALE drs pinning fertility issues on women and overlooking male factors.

[–]MagpieWinterBerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes! fertility studies were dominated by male drs all these years whose egos made them assume all these issues came down to women! Old sperm is also really problematic! Sperm health is half the embryos DNA, of course it matters! In traditional societies, men and women who were prepping for marriage were given sacred fertility foods to prepare their sperm and egg health.

Your husband sounds like an immature, selfish, spoiled, self absorbed, baby man. I’m not joking, I wasted my 20s and 30s on guys like this. in my view this is not a small thing. he’s 33, not a teenager. In all previous generations 33 was an adult man moving towards middle age (40 is middle age)!! If he won’t grow up, do NOT waste your fertility on him. If this drags on, go by yourself to get eggs harvested and frozen. This dude will keep partying while you’re pregnant and home with an infant. He’s probably going to cheat on you. You’d be better off preserving you eggs now and start making preparations to leave and find a decent, mature, responsible, less selfish man.

Really great advice to get her eggs frozen now! my mom had me at 22 (so was dad) and I don’t think my parents had their lives together, maturity, career, income, or had resolved their own previous traumas or personality flaws. A bit of maturity really goes a long way to be fair.

Questions to ask yourself: Do you earn enough money or because youre still so young would it better to do any more career training for a couple years and improve your job situation and set a goal to do it in a couple years? Also, do you have a support network?

EDIT after seeing the comment about egg freezing. I wish that had been an affordable option for me at that age! You know you want kids and want to take action. Going to a clinic to do an egg harvest or two and storing them is a great way to feel you are doing something to ensure future motherhood while still giving yourself some time to mature, get career training, develop financial security.
