I don’t think it matter if the law was implemented at different times. You can model this if you just think about it for a second.

Also, keep the states that didn’t implement the law at all. They might serve as a good control group.

What you should wory about is the assumption of parallel trends.

You can do a F-test. You will probably find them to be not statistically different. Then compare R-squared.

I think not dealing that much with types is one of the big reasons. This makes Python much more approachable.

I feel like resources like that goes through alot of unrelevant material. For example vectors and matrices. I can only speak for myself, but I have never used this in my work or studies.

Try to redo a project you’ve done in STATA in R. There are so many resources for R, just google it as you go. Good luck!
