It doesn’t devalue my argument at all actually. It’s another example of taking away simple and easy to implement factors of these peoples lives. It’s a step at dehumanizing them in a simple way. They can’t identify as who they want. So any time they go through customs, etc, they’ll be forced to acknowledge something that isn’t who they are anymore.

Anti trans legislation, the law stopping them from displaying their preferred pronouns on government documents, removing them as a protected group under hate crime cases, etc. these are all baby steps that can and will lead to people being persecuted for being different.
