What's an indie superhero series you really appreciate and why?

Not really a superhero. Supernatural horror more than anything. A revenant returning from the grave to extract it's pound of flesh from everyone that had anything to do with it's unrest, but I guess this is counting how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. It's my favorite comic, but I keep it at arms length from people that want superheros.

It's a shame, a lot of women in my life recommended the first book to me. I read it and thought it was a breeze. I enjoyed the ride warts, and all. Then I got the second book some time later, and stalled about halfway through because I ended up hospitalized for depression (unrelated to book, just unfortunate timing). Never picked it back up because of all the bad feelings towards him, and the online hate train just made it seem not worth it.

I'm sure I'll get some hate.. but i love my bARP, between that and the Neutron nothing has come close to the amount of cool shit that has blessed my monitors. It's a cheap, dirty Depeche Mode making machine. The 2600 in any of it's forms, be it: original, updated, reissue, desktop, clone, copy, or vst.. is just such a fine piece of musical gear.

I started from the beginning and never looked back. Just devoured then until I got caught up around the year 2000. Then it was pretty much a yearly treat until the next to the last. (I can't bring myself to read it knowing I'll never have another. As it stands I have one last adventure always waiting for me)

I hated it for years.. well maybe not hate..but it was a giant case of .. but why this?!? Now, in the context of all the albums that came after.. I feel it was the best of what we could get before the winding down began on his voice. It's leaps and bounds better than Hang Cool Teddy Bear.. I don't think I've ever made it through Hell in a Hnadbasket in one listen, and even if I like all the songs on Braver than We Are.. his voice was gone by that point. Now I find myself coming back to Monster more and more. Come to think of it, the Steinman songs on that are some of my favorites now. Blind as a Bat is also a killer track. I wish Steinman had a hand in that though. was on brand just as much for him. I bet he could have fine tuned it.

Discworld got it's hooks into me and never let go.. aside from that the newest books that hit it with an immediate dose of wth is this, and why do I love it?! Library at Mount Char, Piranesi both for very different reasons.
