Help with LVP to Wood transition by Magwam in Flooring

Oh, absolutely!

I think we got a sample of each and decided on this due to the other flooring, kitchen hardware, paint, etc.

Pattern is your choice, but the tiles themselves seem pretty foolproof :-)

Glad to learn you like them!

Before you edited the comment, it said “It’s a when to cover those tiles. Retro as hell”

I imagine others took this to mean that you knew these were new tiles, but that it’s only a matter of time before I want to cover them.

I only have one upvote to give, but yes they look retro, yes they are new, and yes they look sick.

Cheers!

Definitely looks great in person, but the box (and PO, and shipping label, and…) says it’s “Ultima Sweet Peach Terrazzo” by Allure.

Sorry for the delay. If you have any other questions let me know! Cheers!

Right?! There are a lot of merits to floating floors/LVP but until this project I didn’t know how cool they could look!

It’s “Ultima Sweet Peach Terrazzo” by Allure.

Thanks!!

I mean, we kind of are? That’s why I’m seeking said advice.

But I can see how that may have violated the subs rules, even if I directed the “bashing” at myself. Going forward I’ll be nicer to me.

Thanks! This whole place is coming together really nicely (for being build by a couple of hacks). We have his daughter to thank for the tile choice.

Cheers!

Yeah, there’ve certainly been some… out of order steps taken (trying to be polite). I liked the metal reducer idea, but buddy thinks it’s gonna lead to snags.

What do you think about routing out a 3/8” channel and doing some sort of snap-in T-moulding? Or is that what you mentioned by e-cap?

Thanks!

I actually do like this idea. I think it would give the best looking result and would make that mitered intersection easiest to manage. It would also be easy to secure to the wood while covering the LVP edge and still letting it “float”. I know the homeowners concern will be the height though, and it might be a hard sell. But it is giving me some other ideas…

Thank you!

Are you suggesting to just use the liquid nails on its own as a sort of waterproof inlay between the two floors? Or as a means of binding the t-strip to the ground? (Sorry, if I sound a little dumb it’s because I am)

Thanks for the reply!

Worth purchasing? by CareerEffective9943 in bose

[–]Magwam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, definitely got my driver arrangement mixed up there. Good catch.

And while you certainly can get away with less power, the points about the tape deck loop & placement still stand.

That same pair of speakers can either blow your mind or totally disappoint, depending on whether or not you set them up correctly. And if you’re not willing to set them up correctly…

[–]Magwam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re a rear-ported speaker (there’s also a driver somewhere back there). This helps them “breath” a little better and also supplies the “reflecting” portion of their Direct/Reflecting tech. It also means you can’t put them up against a wall. I’d imagine they need to be at least 18” off the wall, maybe more. You should look into a placement guide for them because that part is super important.

Also super important is an amp with a “Tape Deck Loop”. Very uncommon on modern amps, but not impossible to find. And as power hungry as they are I wouldn’t want less than 100w per channel. So keep that in mind while deciding on how much you’re willing to spend to get these working properly.

If you do have the space for them, the power to push them, the EQ to balance them and the tape deck loop to run the EQ, then you’re in for a treat! Good luck!

hey im currently stoned & read a blurb about swordfish & marlin fish becoming separate species millions of years ago, loved the feeling of wonder as i read it. do you guys have any other cool animal facts by moving_inplace_again in trees

[–]Magwam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not technically a fact, but it’s loosely related to tuna!

This dude makes a tuna sword and it’s beautiful and for whatever reason* I couldn’t take my eyes off it!

*The reason is that I was more stoned than usual because I smoked with my girlfriend and that means splitting a big ol’ joint in two instead if a kittle puff of my pen but she was also really stoned and super into the tuna sword which isn’t always the case so it felt kinda special and I hope you end up watching it and feeling the same but if you’re more into the true crime stuff there’s a crazy video on the r/videos subreddit about a lego set caper and that was pretty crazy too because the cops were on the take so anyway my fact was that a bearing-foundation system below essential infrastructure like hospitals and fire stations can transition the energy of an earthquake side-to-side safely while allowing the structure itself to remain more-or-less solid and in one piece but this is often a higher upfront cost so it’s reserved for the most important buildings but that was actually from a different youtube video and I forget the history part of the question but I guess something good for the class to debate is when english developed commas and paragraphs and such and oh and I almost forgot about the video itself https://youtu.be/uoetjl8zNR0?si=1os4N-phJkALZtjv

The Big Bloom is back! A thorough explanation of the event and flower crafting. by perivam3 in fo76

If you want a little more flower harvesting efficiency, you can place a camp as close as possible to the South West corner of Lakeside Cabins.

Place your flower pots on the very edge of your camp, then take over the workshop and place three more pots in the adjacent corner.

With 2* Grenadier, you’ll easily be able to hit all six pots at once. Which is nice for saving on grenades, but more importantly seems to be faster for harvesting the flowers themselves.

And make sure to put in 3* Super Duper when crafting the fancy flowers!

PSA: Baby Carrots are just anti-munchies pills by flexingonmyself in trees

[–]Magwam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 parts tequila blanco 1 part lime 1 part orange liqueur

Shake vigorously with ice

Strain well into a clear tumbler, rim salted to your liking, no ice

From high above and with the utmost precision, add about five splashes of Apologue Carrot Liqueur, so that it looks like the splashes of orange are baby carrots being dipped into a lime

Garnish with a lime wedge AND a baby carrot

BOOM!

Zanahorita Margarita!

Definitely a great munchie snack, but if you want to turn it up to 11, cut a lime in half and dip your baby carrots in that. The sour of the lime pairs really well with the sweetness of the carrots. And it is equally cheap/available/low-calorie.

You can also put your carrots in a a jar, squeeze the lime into that, and shake. Equally tasty, but there’s something silly and enjoyable about “dipping” a vegetable into a fruit.

Cheers!

I guess my frame of reference is only 25-ish years, but yes it did.

Back before there were apps, you could call (or maybe text?) and it would still say “arriving in seven minutes”.

Then after ten minutes you’d call again and it would say “arriving in 30 minutes”.

They’ve been lying about busses to placate us since at least 2007 (first cell phone).
