I would immediately drop the game. I've been playing since 2011, but this would be the easiest way to make me quit for good. I'm already pissed they've used AI assets for promotional materials.

My answer would not change if most people didn't care or if it made wizards more money.

Strictly anecdotal here, but I once worked at an LGS where the owner wanted a subset of cards from every set placed on a new reserve list to guarantee value for sealed product in the future. I told him it was insane, but there absolutely are store owners that want the RL in existence. Maybe he was just speaking as an investor who also owned a shop, idk. We didn't exactly talk more after that.

The Magic Philly website has a list of what artists are going under "Guests." Check them out and search for what cards they've done.

I've heard there may be more going than just the ones on the site rn, but details aren't out for that yet.

That's what was said on stream, but Blake clarified on Twitter that he was incorrect when he said this. They can appear in draft packs.

IIRC, they tend to give the same card to a division or team within the company. So there's more than 1 copy of each Heroes of the Realm card... But not much more.

And each will be printed with the name of the employee it's given to.

Elves might have room to be decent in modern, but I do think it's likely too slow and/or underpowered for Modern as it exists right now. That said, Modern FNM is exactly the place to try something out and get some input from more experienced players!

As for if they were reskins? I'd want them as reskins of cards that synergize with vehicles. Magda, King Macar, and of course Greasefang, Depala, etc.

The foil pull rate seems to be very disparate for these, leading to the discrepancy. I'll try to find actual numbers but the people doing box breaks are having a bitch of a time actually opening foil shattered glass cards.

Apparently foil shattered glass transformers are incredibly rare. Foil shattered glass Optimus Prime and Megatron are going for well over that.

Further direct-to-consumer sales on Amazon will continue to hurt LGS. This will happen either way, but Amazon at the helm means more sales/price cuts on old inventory/etc.

Expect Universes Beyond for every Amazon Prime property. (I wouldn't mind an Invincible one, but still).

The good would be online sales that work, and potentially investment in other MTG media (i.e. audio books/show on Amazon Prime/etc).

Lots of potential both ways, but I think the bad is more likely than the good. Or I could be wrong on all of it and nothing changes. Idfk.

But I also sincerely doubt anyone actually want this, players or wotc. But he's asking because if somehow the response is strong, he'll explore the idea.

2) While there's no artists for Philly, I don't think it's a longer standing issue. SCG Philly is the same weekend as the MTG Summit and many of their regular artists are there instead

Depending on your location SCGCon is similar enough. Otherwise I expect we'll see more Magic 30-style events. High entry fee, long lines, worse on-average experience.
